NaNoPoblano Introduction (day before it begins…)

The other day I was thinking of NaNoWriMo, and suddenly remembered NaNoPoblano from last November.  Took me a few minutes, but I found it!  Team Cheerpeppers for National Blog Posting Month at https://cheerpeppers.wordpress.com/

Now, I already blog every day, but I am looking at this challenge for three things.  First, to introduce some new photo-related weekly posts.  Second, to start a new series, which shall continue beyond November, called “Welcome to James Bay!”.  And third, to introduce a bit more writing into my posts.  Oh, and in addition, I will also be attempting to participate in the 30 Days of Thankfulness (https://mcclendonvilla.wordpress.com/2016/10/29/30-days-of-thankfulness/).  Why?  Why not??  Basically I have a “plan” to see what happens this month as long as I post every day and try some new things!

So, a range of new things to try for November.  Hopefully some of you will try the NaNoPoblano/National Blog Posting Month challenge too!!

Now, back to watching Hallowe’en!

Share Your World – 2016 Week 44

And now for this week’s Share Your World (https://ceenphotography.com/2016/10/31/share-your-world-2016-week-44/).

What was your favorite subject in school?

I have to think about that for a minute…probably recess – and don’t tell me that wasn’t a subject!

If you could have a servant come to your house every day for two hours, what would you have them do?

Only two hours?  That’s not much of a servant…

Where did you live when you were in the third grade of school?  Is it the same place or town you live now?

Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.  A place of hot, muggy summer, and cold, cold winters.  Now I live in the part of Canada where there is no winter, and very happy I am to be here!

In your opinion, list some places that are great for shopping?

No place.  Shopping sucks.  The only time I have fun shopping is when Kevin and I are grocery shopping together.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am grateful for all the wonderful birthday wishes from family and friends, and am looking forward to starting November fresh with blogging and workout challenges!!  Also, listening to Christmas music without people staring (too much).

Happy Hallowe’en!!

A response in avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/eerie/

Yes, Hallowe’en at last!  I can’t believe it, although now I can play Christmas music without feeling too much judgement.  Which mean, yes, of course I have already been playing Christmas music!

Last evening mom and dad made dinner for my birthday – yes, another birthday feast!  And a yummy one it was.

With cheese

oct302016c

And wine

oct302016j

Nothing like a birthday Prime Rib roast with mashed potatoes and veggies!

oct302016l

And of course, gluten-free carrot cake with white chocolate frosting.  Yeah – sounds better when you just leave it with “gluten-free carrot cake”!

Thanks mom and dad!  Elliot wished he could be there too…

A Birthday dinner…

A response in avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/giant/

Last night, Kevin took me out for dinner for my birthday.  No, yesterday was not my birthday – that is yet to come.

We went to our favourite restaurant, Olo and indulged in:

We walked to dinner, and on the way home, saw this – earlier we had seen this strange vehicle full of people drinking, pedaling madly and singing pirate songs.  Sorry – no picture of that, only of the pirate-less version…

Elliot wanted me to make sure I posted at least one kitty picture today…

A few scenes from Friday

A response in avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/bridge/

Well, technically from Friday after work.

Stopped by Niagara Grocery to get my veg box and a laugh!

This is NOT what it looks like.  If we lived in Saskatchewan, it WOULD be what it looks like.  Here, not so much.

oct282016b

Ah, kitties hanging…

And sleeping.  Looks good to me!

Completely random

A response in avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/rearrange/

It’s Friday, and I am working frantically to re-setup my laptop, having finally brought it home from the laptop doctor yesterday after work.  So, while it’s furiously working away (and I am furiously working away at trying to remember everything that was on it before it got blown away and had Windows 10 completely reinstalled from scratch), here is a completely random picture for your enjoyment.

Whoo-hoo…Kitten Thursday!!

A response in avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/smoke/

Yes.  Here we are.  Kitten Thursday.  The last one of October.  It’s been a bit of a rough month, but I think things are back on track and I am about ready to get back to regular life, get back on the running road to Marathon 2017, back to my kickboxing class, and back to my regular blogging activity.

In the meantime, enjoy Kitten Thursday!

I promised you a look at my first (and probably only) piece of thrown pottery.  So, here again is the final, pre-glazed version

And next to my other important piece at work, my More Cowbell cowbell (don’t ask)

Thanks for indulging me!
