Fandango’s One Word Challenge: Centre
“Welcome to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). It’s designed to fill the void after WordPress bailed on its daily one-word prompt. Today’s word is “Centre.”” (https://fivedotoh.com/2018/10/30/fowc-with-fandango-center/)
I don’t normally shoot things in the centre, but this just struck me somehow…

RagTag Daily Prompt: Sublime
A response in starting over with a new daily avoidance (or non-avoidance, as the case may be), here with the Ragtag Daily Prompt (https://ragtagcommunity.wordpress.com/2018/10/29/rdp-monday-sublime/), today is Sublime.
A sublime photo for today

Not strictly speaking a flower, but it did make me realize how close to November we are…and a little bit Charlie-Brown-Christmassy!

Three Line Tales – 143
This challenge comes from Sonya at Only100Words (https://only100words.xyz/2018/10/25/three-line-tales-week-143/) , and here are the rules:
“Write three lines to go with the weekly photo prompt (the photos I use are either royalty-free or I’ve been given permission by the photographer to use them; please credit where appropriate) – sideways interpretation is encouraged. The photo is the launch point – take us wherever you fancy.”

1 Thing 10 Ways Challenge: Week 2
Here we are – week 2 of my 1 thing 10 ways challenge! (Also now a part of Forgiving Fridays https://forgivingconnects.com/2018/10/19/today-is-forgiving-fridays-topic-accepting-all-of-yourself-and-a-poem/)
Today, a mundane subject, all taken with my/Kevin’s 50mm lens, all at F1.4 (yes, a nice fast 50mm) and all at ISO 100, handheld. Only the shutter speed changed. I am working on exposure and seeing things from different angles. And it’s obvious in all of these that I continue to need to work on my focus. And getting out of my comfort zone! I should mention that I challenged myself to only take one shot for each “way”, so I did – I only took 10 shots, no trials, but plenty of errors (especially the aforementioned focus)!
So, here we go!
1/20
I stepped to the other side of the room and shot at 1/15
1/15
And a move into different light, without moving the cup, went to 1/25
I moved the cup in front of a mirror for a bit of a reflection again at 1/25
And this is my favourite, even out of focus, at 1/60 and post-produced into black and white.
Thought I would surround said subject teacup with other teacups, back to 1/15
I wish this was more in focus. 1/25
From above at 1/80 – more light on the dining room table.
And finally, I turned the cup upside down at 1/30
