Weekly Photo Challenge: 2017 Favourites
“This week, we’re proposing something a little different to celebrate the end of the year. Instead of a specific theme or topic, we invite you to share your most meaningful photo from 2017. This isn’t necessarily the “best” photo you’ve taken this year — feel free to post your most technically accomplished photo of the year if you’d like, but we equally encourage you to think about other parameters. From the photo that generated the most reactions on your blog to the one that has the deepest emotional pull on you, define “favorite” in whatever way works best for you. Your chosen image doesn’t have to be one you’ve already shared in a previous Photo Challenge. Anything goes, as long as it’s a photo from 2017. If you want to share several images, that’s fine too — a “best of 2017” gallery could be fun if you can’t settle on one photo.” (https://dailypost.wordpress.com/photo-challenges/2017-favorites/)
As I sit here, waiting for supper-making time and watching various NYE TV shows (we have a LONG way to go here on the West coast, I thought I would show you some of my favourite photos I’ve posted from 2017. To keep it manageable for you, and for me, just one per month. This was NOT easy as I take a lot of pictures 🙂
Anyway, here goes!

Last Kitten Thursday of 2017
A response in not as much avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/cozy/
Apparently I was just too cozy yesterday (sitting in front of the fire with a good book, recovering from my cough, and eating homemade turkey soup) to post on my blog. Oh well.
While I ponder my today’s coziness, enjoy the last Kitten Thursday of the year!
Happy Boxing Day
A response in not as much avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/proclivity/
I have a proclivity for sleeping in on days off. Unfortunately my nagging cough (to be clear, I feel fine – just this stupid cough hanging on…) made that impossible. So here are some pictures of yesterday and today.

And thus ends our white Christmas.
Merry Christmas everyone!

I will cherish the memories of a white Christmas here in Victoria this year. I have a feeling I’ll be cherishing them around noon, as the rain is supposed to begin any moment now.
Merry Christmas everyone!!
Christmas Special (2017) Writing Prompt #24
Welcome to Our Random View’s Christmas Special Writing Prompts. Today’s theme – The Night Before Christmas? (https://ourrandomview.wordpress.com/2017/12/24/christmas-special-2017-writing-prompt-24-the-night-before-christmas/)
Do we do anything special the day or night before Christmas? Not so much anymore. I usually clean the house for Christmas guests, and Kevin goes Christmas shopping. Yes, every December 24th, he is in the stores until they close. As for Christmas Eve, we used to do church (I would always sing O Holy Night at the service) and have dinner with Kevin’s family, but those days are long over. Now, it’s watching Christmas movies, and having a nice relaxed dinner.
Hope you all are enjoying your Christmas Eve!
Communal Caturday

‘Twas the Caturday before Christmas, and all through the house, kittens were relaxing. Not that this is anything new or exciting. They are cats, after all…
Christmas Special (2017) Writing Prompt #23
Welcome to Our Random View’s Christmas Special Writing Prompts. Today’s theme – Favourite Christmas Activity? (https://ourrandomview.wordpress.com/2017/12/23/christmas-special-2017-writing-prompt-23-favourite-christmas-activity/)
What could be better than Christmas dinner with family and friends, watching a movie (one Christmas I introduced Dad to This is Spinal Tap), listening to Christmas music, and of course, eating stuffing! I’m looking forward to this year’s stuffing…I mean, family dinner 🙂
Christmas Special (2017) Writing Prompt #22
Welcome to Our Random View’s Christmas Special Writing Prompts. Today’s theme – What to get them for Christmas? (https://ourrandomview.wordpress.com/2017/12/22/christmas-special-2017-writing-prompt-22-what-to-get-them/)
Well, I don’t exchange presents with many people any more. Kevin, and Mom and Dad. Who is the hardest to buy for? Dad. Hope he likes what we got him this year!
And now, here is a picture of something I saw today. And yes, it is December in Canada!
Christmas Special (2017) Writing Prompt #21
Welcome to Our Random View’s Christmas Special Writing Prompts. Today’s theme – Favourite Christmas Film? (https://ourrandomview.wordpress.com/2017/12/21/favourite-christmas-film-christmas-special-2017-writing-prompt-21-answer/)
There is only one. They tried to convince me to watch a live, remake, musical version this year. Nope. Never gonna replace the original!
You’ll shoot your eye out, kid!
Miraculous Kitten Thursday
A response in not as much avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/miraculous/
‘Twas the Kitten Thursday before Christmas and, well, kittens were pretty much doing what kittens do all year round…
