It’s been a dark week, so let’s try a little pre-Kitten-Thursday!

This is for you, Jill.  And for everyone who just needs an extra Kitten Thursday this week!!

Scenes from a holiday Monday walk

Well, the scenes are all similar, showing that it was a glorious day yesterday!!

A day cleaning up (finally) the backyard

A response in avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/adrift/

I think our backyard is finally pretty much cleaned up.  Now, to get some flowers for our pots in front and back to brighten things up, and get some vegetables planted in the side raised beds.  It’s like summer arrived yesterday in all its glory!

Here are a few pictures from the backyard after we finished up yesterday.

Notice the stone birdbath – we moved that over from our rental house when we sold it earlier this year, and have finally put it in place in the yard.  We originally got this birdbath in Regina when we lived there, so it’s been with us a long time!

Also with us a long time is that stove we moved from the rental in January, and before that from Regina (it originally belonged to Kevin’s mom and dad).  Kevin had the brilliant idea to put a metal pot on top of it and fill it with water, so it is going to become another birdbath!

This stove we got on Used Victoria – and the tubs too!  I love the garden at this time of year!!

A little more randomness from the weekend

Here are some of the things we saw while we were out and about yesterday.

I don’t know what this is actually called, but it is like a bar on multiple spinning bikes that cruises wrecklessly through traffic with it’s riders usually singing ribald (nice word, eh?) songs…

This was my 365 picture for yesterday, for the theme “Old School”.  I just thought it was a perfect opportunity shot!

When we parked to buy soap downtown, we wandered down an alley we hadn’t wandered down before.  I love these alleys with all the bricks.  Of course, the extra 2 minutes meant we also got a parking ticket (since we hadn’t bothered to plug the meter, thinking we would only be a couple of minutes).  Didn’t see any parking enforcement anywhere – they ARE ninjas!

And here are the final big balls of flowers on our front shrub.  It has taken over now, and these flower balls are dripping everywhere!  Soon it will be a big mess, and then it will be a memory…until next spring.

Randomness on a Saturday at the beginning of a Long Weekend

To kick off the long weekend (here in Canada, eh?), here are some random photos from a work-walk this week…

So, in celebration for making it through Groundhog Kitten Thursday Week, here are…kittens!!

Finally! Do I need to say it?? Kitten Thursday!!!

A response in avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/farce/

OMG…finally!!  I did NOT think I was going to make it to the real Kitten Thursday.  And now, just two days to get through before a long weekend.  Can I do it??

So, finally – Kitten Thurs…wait…not yet? WTF??

Sigh…

Happy Kitten Thurs….wait, it’s not Thursday??? Crap.

Mother’s Day in a Nutshell

Went to the symphony with mom yesterday (her treat).  Tchaikovsky violin concerto and Shostakovitch 5th Symphony (it’s not the 10th, but it is a good one!!)

Then mom and dad came over for a little comfort food dinner:

BBQ “beer can” (no beer, no can) chicken

oven roasted asparagus with Parmesan

And, of course, garlic mashed potatoes.

And now…Monday…
