Helleborganza!!

So, yesterday was our (friend Sue and daughter Isla and me) annual outing (including ferry ride, lunch, countryside driving and back again) to Salt Spring Island and Helleborganza at Fraser’s Thimble Farms (http://www.thimblefarms.com/hellebore.html)! Here are some of the sights from the day:
A couple of reasons to love it here

So, the next few weeks we here in Victoria are invited to partake in what is called Dine Around (http://www.tourismvictoria.com/events/dinearound/). It’s something that takes place every year at this time where restaurants around the city put on $20/$30/$40 menus to attract folks (locals) during the off-season. It’s a fun way to try new places or just go back to the old favourites.
Anyway, that’s one reason it’s nice to live here (not that other cities don’t do this – I’m sure they do). The other reason, however, is that we can walk to many of the Dine Around restaurants due to our proximity to downtown. And this is what we did last night. We even pushed ourselves out of our comfort zone and went someplace new. A place called the Hawk & Hen http://hawkandhen.com/).
Given that this is NOT a restaurant review blog, I am not going to give you a run-down on the meal (just pictures, of course). It was good. Not great perhaps, but good – we did clean our plates! Would we go back again? Sure – I guess so. It definitely is a cool space and the service was very good (almost too efficient…)
And here are a few sights from the walk home. So glad it wasn’t raining and we could walk!!
And now, Sunday awaits!
Don’t bother me…

And it’s Friday again. I think it will be a good weekend, but to get through today, I need more kitties. Hope you don’t mind!
Colour Your World: Mango Tango
Today’s Colour Your World is Mango Tango (http://jennifernicholewells.com/2016/02/25/color-your-world-mango-tango/).
Who comes up with these colour names? How much do they get paid?? And more importantly, where can I get a gig like this???
Another soothing Kitty Day

Catching up a bit, since I missed yesterday for some unexplained reason (laziness…) So here we are: brown and gray 🙂
Flowers and an early dinner
A response in avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/pat-on-the-back/
Well, an early dinner for us. Before 8:00 man! Kevin had the day “off” (at home) and BBQ’d us up some roast pork and polenta, which we had with a little steamed asparagus (yum!)
Yes, we filled up our plates. I was hungry!
And, of course, wine (I indulged in white, while Kevin stuck to the red variety)
And finally, flowers. They just keep coming!!
