November Poem a Day (PAD) Challenge 2023: Day 29
Hi everyone.
This November I will be presenting to you a month of daily poems as memoir, little ditties to tell you about my day or my thoughts during the day, whatever. Of course I hope you enjoy them, but it’s ok if you don’t. Just move on to the next blog in your list.
Day twenty-nine is: “For today’s prompt, take the phrase “(blank) Free,” replace the blank with a new word or phrase, make the new phrase the title of your poem, and then, write your poem. Possible titles might include: “Home Free,” “Fat Free,” “Stress Free,” and/or “Completely Free.” You’re free to poem today, but don’t be poem free.”
Virus Free?
Oh when will I be
virus free?
Coughing and hacky
blowing nose endlessly
Can’t hear normally
head pressured exponentially
Sleeping only sporadically
Oh when will I be
virus free?

I don’t know what directions my flower pics will take this year. For now, I will just play it by ear and see where my fancy flies!
November Poem a Day (PAD) Challenge 2023: Day 28
Hi everyone.
This November I will be presenting to you a month of daily poems as memoir, little ditties to tell you about my day or my thoughts during the day, whatever. Of course I hope you enjoy them, but it’s ok if you don’t. Just move on to the next blog in your list.
Day twenty-eight is:”For today’s Two-for-Tuesday prompt:
- Write a seize the day poem, or…
- Write a survive the day poem.”
Day off
Survival is
not
the only option
on a day
without work
without worry
without words

November Poem a Day (PAD) Challenge 2023: Day 27
Hi everyone.
This November I will be presenting to you a month of daily poems as memoir, little ditties to tell you about my day or my thoughts during the day, whatever. Of course I hope you enjoy them, but it’s ok if you don’t. Just move on to the next blog in your list.
Day twenty-seven is: “For today’s prompt, write a remix poem. That is, take one or more of your poems from this month and remix them in a different way. Maybe mash-up two poems into one poem. Or turn a sonnet into free verse, or free verse into a villanelle. Have fun with it.”
Nonsense
I woke this morning
a kitten upon my lap
nose red in the cold
Over the rooftops
is an end to the week, but
I was still dreaming
Someone is coming
all I need, a glass of wine
sickness departing

November Poem a Day (PAD) Challenge 2023: Day 26
Hi everyone.
This November I will be presenting to you a month of daily poems as memoir, little ditties to tell you about my day or my thoughts during the day, whatever. Of course I hope you enjoy them, but it’s ok if you don’t. Just move on to the next blog in your list.
Day twenty-six is: “Today’s prompt is to write a time poem. Personally, I’ve dealt with Daylight Savings Time, time zones, and timed races this month. Even this challenge is a timed event with a new prompt/poem each day and a collection due by a certain time in January. So think (and poem) about time today.”
Time never stops at work
Time hangs
suspended
when you are sick
and yet
days pass
unnoticed
until suddenly
well again
Somehow though
email
clicks away
building work anyway
