Tuesday Photo Challenge – Light
Here is Dutch Goes the Photo’s (https://dutchgoesthephoto.net) Tuesday photo Challenge. This week’s topic is: Light (https://dutchgoesthephoto.net/2016/08/23/tuesday-photo-challenge-light/).
“Go play with light, find some reflections, bright little spots filtering through leaves, or whatever catches your eye, and, most of all, have fun!!!”
I find it sometimes challenging to catch the sparkly light on the water, but I thought this one turned out pretty good.
Hugh’s Weekly Photo Challenge. Week 30: After
Hugh’s Weekly Photo Challenge. Week 30: After (https://hughsviewsandnews.com/2016/06/21/hughs-weekly-photo-challenge-week-30-after/)
“This week, show me a photo that captures the word After. Maybe it’s a pop group or cast of a show taking a bow after their performance, or how about somebody taking a well-earned rest after a hard day’s work? Maybe you have some photos that capture the before and after of a project you completed, or of a scene that captures the result of the aftermath of a rainstorm or of lots of visitors?”
Now I know why I wait to take pictures until After Dinner!
Hugh’s Weekly Photo Challenge. Week 29: Open
Hugh’s Weekly Photo Challenge. Week 29: Open (https://hughsviewsandnews.com/2016/06/14/hughs-weekly-photo-challenge-week-29-open/)
“This week, show me some photos of what ‘open’ means to you. Maybe it will be an open door or gate, somebody opening that large gift, or a photo of a wide open space? How about an open packet of biscuits or an establishment or event that is open for business?”
Here are some things that are open from the archives:
Hugh’s Weekly Photo Challenge. Week 28: Glorious
Hugh’s Weekly Photo Challenge. Week 28: Glorious (https://hughsviewsandnews.com/2016/06/07/hughs-weekly-photo-challenge-week-28-glorious/)
“For this week’s photo challenge show me what your interpretation of Glorious is. Maybe it’s the weather or a stunning view you came across on a recent trip. How about a celebration that was glorious or an outstanding performance or sports event which you were part of?”
Here are few things in my life I consider to be pretty glorious (note that there is no picture of Kevin here as he prefers to remain not-visible on my blog…):
Hugh’s Weekly Photo Challenge. Week 27: Vintage
Hugh’s Weekly Photo Challenge. Week 27: Vintage (https://hughsviewsandnews.com/2016/05/31/hughs-weekly-photo-challenge-week-27-vintage/)
“For this week’s challenge take or choose a photo that shows something vintage. Maybe it’s something that once belonged to your Grandparents that you have on display, or maybe it’s an item that is locked away in the back of a cupboard? Do you have any vintage clothes you can show off or maybe a vintage toy that is still in its original pristine box?”
A few original features in our house.
And a couple of family heirlooms.
Hugh’s Weekly Photo Challenge. Week 26: Distance
Hugh’s Weekly Photo Challenge. Week 26: Distance (https://hughsviewsandnews.com/2016/05/17/hughs-weekly-photo-challenge-week-26-distance/)
“For this week’s photo challenge take or choose a photo that shows an object that is in the distance. Maybe it’s a building or a wonderful view that contains an interesting object or scene that, although it is in the distance, shows up really well in the photo? Maybe you can spot where you are headed to from a plane or train and you’ve managed to capture it?”
Things in the distance always seem to look closer in real life than on camera…
He was not amused.
Hugh’s Weekly Photo Challenge. Week 25: Music
Hugh’s Weekly Photo Challenge. Week 25: Music (https://hughsviewsandnews.com/2016/05/10/hughs-weekly-photo-challenge-week-25-music/
I grew up a musician. My mom played the flute in the symphony (and taught flute), my dad played bassoon and was a composer (and taught Music at the University) and I grew up playing the piano, the flute, and singing. My first degree is in Music, performance, in string bass and for many years I played in orchestras and jazz groups. I haven’t played in a long time now and there are days I really miss it. I may not play any more, but I will always be a musician.
I finally sold my bass last year, and here are some remembrances of it:
No, this isn’t my bass, but it’s a bass pillow and a kitty!
Hugh’s Weekly Photo Challenge: Week 24 – Hats
Hugh’s Weekly Photo Challenge. Week 24: Hats (https://hughsviewsandnews.com/2016/05/03/hughs-weekly-photo-challenge-week-24-hats/)
So today, I am taking one picture of all of our hats. Well, many of our hats. Well, the ones I could find in our closet.
Hats (and one cat, because…that’s what I do…)
Hugh’s Weekly Photo Challenge: Week 23 – Season
Trying a new challenge today. Hugh’s Weekly Photo Challenge. This is, apparently, Week 23, and the theme this week is Season (https://hughsviewsandnews.com/2016/04/26/hughs-weekly-photo-challenge-week-23-season/)
I thought I would show a couple of interpretations of “season”, the first, my food from brunch with a couple of friends a few weeks back where you can see the seasoning. BTW, it was delicious!
And, signs of the changing seasons, as much as they ever change here in Victoria. That’s the Victoria in British Columbia, Canada! Here is: when we know spring is here.
