No, we don’t have 4 Cats now.  Last night, friend Judy invited me, as well as friends Trish and Suzanne, to 4Cats to … wait for it … make bowls!

Here are a few before’s of the wheel and accessories – before they were completely covered in splattered mud and water.

And here is the first lump of clay I worked with.  Before slapping vigourously on the table…

And after.

I tried in vain to make a bowl out of this sucker, but eventually had only enough clay left for a thimble, so started again.

Sadly, I couldn’t take pictures during the experience (not without drowning my phone in wet clay), but I should have taken a picture of the complete MESS left behind.  Alas, I did not, so you’ll have to make due with a picture of my creation, “Man’s inhumanity to man” – my first piece of thrown art, which will soon be fired and glazed so I can present it to the world.

I’m exhausted now!

Well, that Monday sent me off to a crappy start for the week.  I’d say it can’t get any worse, but well, Tuesday.  At least tonight I get to have a little fun with clay…details tomorrow.

I do love fall, or autumn as some people call it.  Doesn’t matter what it’s called, it’s a time of colour, and freshness in the air, and Hallowe’en…and Canadian Thanksgiving with turkey and stuffing (or as some people call it, although I can’t for the life of me understand why, dressing – or is dressing the stuffing-wanna-be people cook on the stove??  What’s up with that???).  Anyway, fall.  Almost time for Christmas commercials on TV!!
