Re-Creating confusion

A response in not as much avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/recreate/

Recreate, eh?

Wait…what does it mean to re-create something?

DMy new toyid it get broken and now need to be fixed?  Like my big girl camera that I was going to take on my trip next week which is now broken?  But it can’t be re-created, only fixed.

So, what can you actually re-create?

Maybe if I didn’t back up the essay I wrote for my class and it disappeared, I would have to re-create it.  But would it really ever be the same?  Can you actually re-create it if you lost the original?

Doesn’t creation imply uniqueness?  So how can something be RE-created?

Ok, just a minute.  The dictionary says “to give new life or freshness to.”  But isn’t that just to “refresh” or “freshen up”?

Maybe I just need to re-create myself another cup of coffee…

Better now?  Re-created, man!

The flavours of the day

A response in not as much avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/flavorful/

So, my start of my not so much avoidance is off to a rocky start, given that I did not post yesterday.  Except for Kitten Thursday – I didn’t miss that!

Today’s word is Flavourful.  Note that I added the “u” in there.  I’m from Canada – that’s how you spell flavourful (stop trying to correct me, WordPress!)  My life is flavourful.  Not exciting or overly interesting to others, but full of flavour.  What flavours depends on the day and the experience.

Good flavours, for example from yesterday where a lovely faculty member emailed me to tell me that there needed to be more Emilys around (I assume she meant that in a good way, not that she was having too many problems for one Emily to solve…)

Bland flavours as I sit at my desk and read articles for a paper I am writing (although, there were a few pops of flavour in there as I read).

Then those flavours we wish we hadn’t tasted.  You know – like those every flavoured beans from Harry Potter like earwax and vomit?   Those are, unfortunately, the ones that stay with us through the day.  We try to let them go, but they linger and sometimes burn a bit.  There were some really strong, unpleasant flavours this week, and while I have been trying, I can’t quite get rid of them.

Maybe I need to go home and try washing them away with something a bit tastier…That should keep the palate clean until Monday!

A change of plans

A response in not as much avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/penchant/

You know, I’ve been avoiding these prompts for awhile now.  I wonder if I should try something new?  I actually began this blog as a place to post my random thoughts and pictures but, as you may have noticed, I haven’t been my originally sardonic self for quite some time.  So, I am going to try a change.  You will still get flowers and kitties (including Kitten Thursday and Caturday), but I need to write more.  Not a lot more, and probably more like rambling thoughts of things that happened in my day kind of writing.  And maybe, just maybe, I will not completely avoid all the Daily Prompts in my ramblings.  Thanks for indulging me!

Penchant is a good word.  Not that I hear it a lot these days.  I, myself, have a penchant for avoidance and procrastination.  I’m working on it…

Now, here are some pictures I took yesterday on the big-girl camera, working on depth of field.

Better Late than Never Kitten Thursday!

It’s what you’ve been waiting for…Kitten Thursday!

I really need Kitten Thursday today, so I have a lot of kittens for you.  I am VERY glad a long weekend is coming our way.

This is also my post for Forgiveness Fridays (https://forgivingconnects.com/2017/08/18/todays-forgiving-fridays-loving-it-all/).  Something that made me happy this week and forget the anger I was feeling about things that happened at that place…

I was walking through the park and, as usual, saw peacocks.

But NOT as usual saw BABY peacocks!!  I have never seen babies in the park before, but there they were.  SO cute!  I was smiling the rest of my walk 🙂
