The flavours of the day
A response in not as much avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/flavorful/
So, my start of my not so much avoidance is off to a rocky start, given that I did not post yesterday. Except for Kitten Thursday – I didn’t miss that!
Today’s word is Flavourful. Note that I added the “u” in there. I’m from Canada – that’s how you spell flavourful (stop trying to correct me, WordPress!) My life is flavourful. Not exciting or overly interesting to others, but full of flavour. What flavours depends on the day and the experience.
Good flavours, for example from yesterday where a lovely faculty member emailed me to tell me that there needed to be more Emilys around (I assume she meant that in a good way, not that she was having too many problems for one Emily to solve…)
Bland flavours as I sit at my desk and read articles for a paper I am writing (although, there were a few pops of flavour in there as I read).
Then those flavours we wish we hadn’t tasted. You know – like those every flavoured beans from Harry Potter like earwax and vomit? Those are, unfortunately, the ones that stay with us through the day. We try to let them go, but they linger and sometimes burn a bit. There were some really strong, unpleasant flavours this week, and while I have been trying, I can’t quite get rid of them.
Maybe I need to go home and try washing them away with something a bit tastier…That should keep the palate clean until Monday!

Yes. I no longer accept jelly beans from supposedly well-meaning generous folks. Here’s hoping all the flavoUrs in your weekend are yummy ones 🙂
You too!! 🙂
Autocorrect must drive you crazy.
There are days…
You made me smile … and I agree 100% with the faculty member … we DO need more Emilys. Sorry you had so many bad flavours this week, but it looks like you are doing just the right thing to wash them away! Now, you and Kevin should go out for a lovely dinner and kill any lingering bad tastes. And by the way … I have the same problem with the spell-check, but I have ‘trained’ MS Word and it now accepts all my ‘ou’s. 😉 Have a great weekend, my friend!
Glad to make you smile!! Now, off to have another cup of coffee so I can start smiling too 🙂 Have a wonderful weekend!
You too, my friend!!!
