I’m hungry…
A response in not as much avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/cloaked/
Today, mom asked me why I hadn’t posted pictures of some of the meals I’ve eaten this week while hanging with mom and dad and my Aunt Nancy from Texas. Laziness? Well, ok then…here are some pictures of food from this week, while I wait to eat my own supper tonight… Oh, and these pictures only have a relationship to today’s theme in that they are all cloaked in yummy sauces.
Almost missed Kitten Thursday!!

I’m losing track of my days…guess holidays do that to a person. Wonder how I’ll be when I retire (hah! like I’ll ever be able to “retire”…)
Anyway, here it is. Better late than never. Thanks Lois (https://loisajay1213.wordpress.com/) for the reminder!!
How can you be tame at Hallowe’en?
A response in not as much avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/tame/
I’m taming it down a bit this week. I didn’t even blog yesterday! First day in forever. But, I’m back for a short, tame post featuring:
from our favourite coffee place (where we buy all our coffee beans). I, of course, pushed the button….and after it finished regaling us with Highway to Hell (I think that’s what it played), I promised not to push it again. So we could go back to being tame.
Not really…

Nothin’ elastic about this picture. I just like pumpkins, and I like black and white photos. So, you could say I am stretching the prompt here…my interpretation is elastic, if you will…
It’s a very genius (and late) Kitten Thursday!

What can I say? It’s been a week…but now I have another week off (’cause my Aunt from Texas is coming to visit), so all is right with the world again.
So, without further ado, Kitten Thursday on Friday!
Round and round and round she goes
A response in not as much avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/circle/
When you think about it, there are a lot of songs about circles. At least my brain tells me there are. Right now I can only remember May the circle be unbroken and The circle of life, and Windmills of your mind (‘kay, “circle” not in the title, but let’s face it the song IS about circles…)
I did a search because I knew there are more than three songs about circles. I was right. Won’t list them all here though, ’cause the Internets does a good job of that.
Then I started saying the word “circle” over and over and over again. Strange word, eh?
What can I say? It’s early on a Saturday, and I am getting ready to fly back home to Kevin and kitties today! Full circle, you might say.
Now that I have completed my own circle of life (and of Emily not nearly as grumpy now as she was an hour ago), it’s time to get this travel home show on the road!
Well, it was a coincidence of a kind…
A response in not as much avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/coincidence/
As I sat here in the dark (too lazy to turn on a light) – we are leaving Elkwater today to head back to Regina, and taking a slow start to the morning. Mainly because there is a real cool little restaurant (well, everyone tells us that) which is closed Monday and Tuesday, but opens today at 11:00am. So, a slow start to the morning (with coffee…), then a late breakfast, then hit the road!
Anyway, enough wandering. So, today I wondered what picture I have taken in the past few days would represent “coincidence”. Because I have to post a picture. Can’t just have words now.
This little gem is one of the ones I showcased at the end of our photography workshop. I think it was a coincidence that they had just cut down some trees, lying at eye level (so I didn’t have to lie down on the ground – you know, it’s a lot harder to get down there at my age), with a lower light kind of day (no glare from sun). So, here you have it.
Oh, I should also mention that I don’t believe in coincidences, but you know, I am trying to avoid less…
I am finally learning to focus
A response in not as much avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/focused/
Funny. I am on vacation, but this is the most focused I’ve been on something since my last vacation when I was focused on painting the bathroom and the back porch. This vacation, it’s using the big-girl camera. And there is a lot of focusing going on! I don’t, however, want to necessarily focus on what is expected. Of course!
This was also taken at dusk…the entire farmyard was deserted so I had a lot of fun (except that Susan heard a critter in the barn, so we didn’t stay too close…)
Well, I forgot the title again!

So, here I am in Mighty Saskatchewan. How can I tell?
Mindboggling

Sting.
Thinking about the word, the first thing I wondered was, what is the past tense of this sucker? Stang? Of course not! Because that would be too easy. Sing, sang, sung; Ring, rang, rung. It’s not Stought either – bring, brought, brought. Or Stinged – ding, dinged, dinged.
Oh, English. I can’t just blame your spelling system this time.
