A post non-stormpocalypse post
A response in avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/trust/
I’m glad I avoid the Daily Post prompts – I’ve learned some very hard lessons in trust lately.
Instead, since I have no storm pictures to show you since there was, in fact, no storm (this was it…)
…here are some scenes of the season…
Watch out…
Home, dry, and warm.
A storm’s a’coming – I mean a real one (as opposed to the metaphorical ones that are part of normal life these days…)
A response in avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/subdued/
Not subdued today, the weather, that is. There are predictions that the biggest storm in 50 years is going to invade us later today. So, of course, people are trying to figure out where to go to watch it! Gotta say, I am going to be happy staying in with Kevin and the kitties, in front of the fire, eating turkey soup!!
Is the largest storm in 54 years coming Saturday? Where to watch nature’s fury
At least it’s Friday
A response in (non)avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/candle/
Better to light one candle than to curse the darkness. Wish I could believe this today – sometimes I think it would have been better to stay safe in the dark…
I won’t miss a day!!
A response in avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/clumsy/
Refusing to miss a day because of crap going on elsewhere, here is a happy picture for everyone!
Memories from the weekend
A response in avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/promises/
Since I have been off-line all day, basically, due to my computer crashing from forced Windows 10 updates (and I will have to reformat and reinstall everything tonight as I am operating in Safe Mode, and don’t think my Lenovo will come back on its own…), here are some random pictures I haven’t posted yet from the long weekend.
Wish me luck!
A few more scenes from Turkey Weekend
A response in avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/original/
Oh crap – I posted this before I finished it! So, now the finished product…
Turkey before and after…
Table before and after…
Walking on a Thanksgiving Monday
NOT wanting to go back to work today…
My 21K Stroll!
A response in avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/flattery/
So, yesterday was many things, including Canadian Turkey day, which I will write more about later. But yesterday was also the day I strolled the half marathon here in Victoria. I’ve run it before, power-walked it before, and completed the full 42K marathon as well (that’s the plan for next year again!), but yesterday I just wanted to walk and take pictures. And, since it was not raining, I did!
The strolling adventure for the weekend started on Saturday when I went (with Kevin’s cousin Kirsten – running the marathon – and her other half, Maynard – running the half) to pick up my racing bib.
First, I found my race number…
Then checked my chip (friends and family can even track you live online these days!)
Then Sunday morning, at 7:30 am, the half marathon stroll began.
As we headed up Johnson
We hit the 2K mark
Then down Cook and through the Park
Out of the Park
and then back into the Park again…
Then, finally, out onto Dallas where the actual half marathon runners were already heading back
Including Maynard!! Go Maynard!
Shortly thereafter, we reached the 10K mark (basically half-way)
Then, the turn-around to head back
Here’s what we see on the run back
At some point along here I met Bacon. I was wearing a shirt that said “Got Bacon?” And here he was!! We hugged…
Now, what you need to know is that the half marathon starts at 7:30 am, and the full marathon starts at 8:45. Here is the winner of the full marathon blowing by me as I was getting towards the end of the race – about 2K to go.
There he goes…
And here I go towards the end…
Ta-da!! I finished almost last – there were many pictures to take after all!!
Next year, 42K 🙂
Guess what I did today?

More tomorrow….I have to go eat turkey now…
Cee’s Odd Ball Challenge 2016 Week 40
For this week’s Cee’s Odd Ball Challenge, 2016 Week 40 (https://ceenphotography.com/2016/10/07/cees-odd-ball-photo-challenge-2016-week-40/)
Is it a tuba? A violin?? What???
Weekly Photo Challenge: H2O
“For this week’s challenge, share a photo that features H2O; the element of water. Water comes in many different states and guises. From a foggy morning to your favorite watercolor painting, how will you show H2O in a photograph? I look forward to seeing your interpretations.” (https://dailypost.wordpress.com/photo-challenges/h2o/)
Here is my interpretation of this week’s theme, based on stopping at the car wash on our way to the airport upon learning that the plane our family members were on was delayed. Well, not so much delayed as broken. They did get on another working plane and arrived safe and sound!
Anyway, I present: H2O
