Something to get me going for January, Bloganuary. Day 22: What is your favourite quote and why?
“Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.”
Because, this..which about says it all regarding how I feel about nametags…
Something to get me going for January, Bloganuary. Day 10: What are five things you are grateful for today?
Working from home while we are still in the grips of, well, you know…
Sweats (which I can wear all day cause working from home)
No more snow!
Something to get me going for January, Bloganuary. Day 9: What do people incorrectly assume about you?
That because I was born on Hallowe’en I must be a witch. Yes. That is indeed an incorrect assumption.
Something to get me going for January, Bloganuary. Day 8: What do you like most about your writing?
Hmmm…. interesting question. I automatically consider what I want to improve about my writing, but what do I like most about my writing? While I know I need to spend more time writing and stretching myself, what I like most about my writing is that it feels so easy to write what I am thinking. I love stream of consciousness writing and think I’m rather good at it, preferring it to planning and editing.
Time perhaps to build in time for more considered writing, but in the meantime, this kind of writing is what I will keep doing the most!
Something to get me going for January, Bloganuary. Day 7: What makes you laugh?
The weirdest things make me laugh sometimes. Although I don’t seem too laugh as much these days as I used to. I hope that changes. It’s kind of sad too that while I know things do make me laugh every day, I can’t think of any specific things right now. Except for the TV show Ghosts, which make me laugh yesterday when we watched it on our PVR. Hmmmm. Thinking about it made me smile a bit…
I guess the most important thing in the end is, can I laugh at myself? Yes…yes I can. And of course, there are the antics of these guys…
Something to get me going for January, Bloganuary. Day 6: Who is someone that inspires you and why?
A lot of people I know inspire me. So many friends, so many family members. And even some people I don’t know…not politicians or people who take political stances while ignoring a pandemic…ok, enough of that.
But the problem is, if I start naming them I will get into a lot of trouble for not mentioning others. So, let me just say, from friends to family to fellow bloggers and photographers and writers, thanks for all the inspiration!
Something to get me going for January, Bloganuary. Day 5: What is something you wish you knew how to do?
I wish I knew how to stop speaking up when decisions, or lack of decisions, make me angry or frustrated or just seem plain stupid. I wish I could just take a step back, shut up, and let someone else take the heat for once.
Something to get me going for January, Bloganuary. Day 4: What was your favourite toy as a child?
Well, I can’t remember one specific favourite toy – probably mom would have something to say about that. However, I do remember that for awhile I collected stuffed animals. Probably not an unusual symptom of childhood, especially for girls. I imagine the piles of stuffed animals on my bed would have been alarming for some.
I of course have no pictures, since I did not move into my photography phase of life until much, much later, but I do remember they all had names (I have no clue what any of those names were…nor where all those stuffed animals ended up.)
Something to get me going for January, Bloganuary. Day 3: The last time when I left my comfort zone.
Well, the last time I left my comfort zone was August 23rd this year when I went back to an in-person work space, luckily in an office with a door that closes, but in the middle of an open office where people are allowed to sit at their desks with no masks on, people I have to walk past every time I have to go to the bathroom.
Then every day since then when I worked in person, and heading back in tomorrow (well, likely not as I am requesting remote work because literally everything I do is virtual anyway) in the middle of sky rocketing numbers.
Can I have a new non-comfort zone soon? Maybe one I don’t have to face every single day of the work week?
Something to get me going for January, Bloganuary. Day 2: What is a road trip you would love to take?
Road trip? Let me tell you, I would be happy taking a road trip to a restaurant for a nice dinner out.
Truth is we don’t do a lot in the way of vacations in general, and then are both pretty much homebodies. Considering we have mountains and oceans and great photography opportunities right nearby here, and live in a city other Canadians come to vacation in, why would we want to go anywhere else?
Someday maybe we will find a good kitty sitter and head out of town for a couple of days, but then we would miss the kitties…
