Hugh’s Weekly Photo Challenge: Week 24 – Hats
Hugh’s Weekly Photo Challenge. Week 24: Hats (https://hughsviewsandnews.com/2016/05/03/hughs-weekly-photo-challenge-week-24-hats/)
So today, I am taking one picture of all of our hats. Well, many of our hats. Well, the ones I could find in our closet.
Hats (and one cat, because…that’s what I do…)

Here we go again…

So, yesterday was Mom’s Day, and we had mom and dad over for dinner. Did I take any pictures of the aforementioned dinner, or the little pot of African Violets Kevin picked out for mom? Of course not! Imagine if you will, lasagne with asparagus and baguette. With yummy gluten-free treats from Origin for desert. Yes, it all looked so good!!
So, no pictures of dinner for you, but Jasper came to the rescue and posed a little to make sure you had your fix for today 🙂 Now let the Monday begin.
Skies of red

So, while Kevin was BBQ’ing dinner last evening (well, last night…I think evening had left by the time we got around to making dinner), we noticed that the skies above were quite strange. Strange for here. I had heard that there was a storm a’brewin’ off shore and the winds had picked up quite a bit, but I wasn’t prepared for the skies.
In a short time they went from that light orange colour to a dark pink.
I took advantage of wanting to take strange-sky pictures and added the seagulls that were screaming around above us.
And then I realized that supper was almost ready, so I left the Armageddon shots and …
And, to finish, let’s not forget that there were kitty cuddles at some point during the day…
It will be a good day!

So, I medicated the old headache yesterday morning and headed in to work for the afternoon. This was a welcome glass of loveliness at the end of my day.
Well, I had to make a trip down the street to get it, but you have to love a little wine and beer store you can walk to that stocks all the best craft beers made on and around the Island. I felt better after this baby.
Today is Saturday, and tomorrow is Mother’s Day, so I am looking forward to a bit of relaxation, some blog planning, a little gardening and house cleaning, and making dinner for mom and dad tomorrow. It’s going to be nice, and sunny, and warm, and I don’t have to think about things that give me headaches, so all is good!
Here’s to my start to the day 🙂
Headache Friday…sigh…

I don’t have a lot of words today because I have a splitting headache. So let’s keep it short and sweet…
Kitten Thursday, a glass of wine, and a political statement
A response in avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/beach/
I don’t normally post political statements here, but yesterday ticked me off.
But while some people may be stupid, inconsiderate, and unkind, kitties are very smart (as well as cuddly and happy to snuggle when you’re feeling crappy), as Jasper and Elliot (and Nicholas, although he is not pictured here) will attest to. Suffice it to say, kitties and a glass of wine were a welcome sight for me coming home after work. Kevin was a welcome sight too, although he came home later after wine and kitty cuddles.
As for the political statement, I thank my work colleague Bob for finding it. I think it needs to find a place on my Facebook page too…
Well, I guess it’s Wednesday again
A response in avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/hope/
I am recording this here in case I forget – it rained last night. Well, it rained on Monday overnight too, but it really soaked last night. I want to remember this because it may not rain again for awhile. I could be wrong, but last year it rained so little I had a hard time remembering when the last time was it rained. Strange to think it is drier here in the summer, in a city on the ocean, than it was in my prairie home of Saskatchewan!
So, I did some gardening after work yesterday. Specifically I shifted much soil to the front yard, but I also picked up some new flower baskets for the front porch.
Not bad for baskets picked up at the grocery store down the street.
And now, kitties!
