Friday. That’s the stuff.
It was a long day yesterday…

…so…
That is all.
Slowly but surely? No. Just slowly.

I’m not very good at getting things done. Well, let me restate that. I’m good at getting things done if I don’t stop doing them. If I stop, it’s sometimes hard for me to get back to it – that’s me…born procrastinator.
Take the upstairs hallway. I started painting it at the end of the Vacation, but I didn’t finish it. So, finally, yesterday I got myself to paint for an hour. And I’ll be trying to do the same tonight. So, it may take me a week or so to finish (I just have a first coat on about half the hallway now), I just need to keep at it. Or it will sit for another month (or more) before it’s done.
Why do I do this? Don’t know. I guess other things just seem more important sometimes.
Well, I did finish painting the office and the spare room…so there!
Here’s what I did yesterday – the very back two panels of blue:
Here’s what’s done with a first coat:
And here’s some of what’s left (there’s a bit around the corner you can’t see here too)
And now, entities who would rather I NOT be painting. Because, you know, they are cats. And cats must be paid attention to.
Wait weekend…come back…

September 8th. My father’s birthday, AND the first day of classes – everywhere. It’s going to be busy on the roads this morning, and it’s going to be a zoo at work. If it weren’t for the students, it would be a nice quiet place to be 🙂
Guess summer is over…

It’s a holiday. That is all.
Ok, just for today…

I’m breaking my avoidance for one moment just to say I don’t want this to happen again, so listen to me all Canadians…YOUR VOTE COUNTS:
And now…random thing I saw wandering around downtown waiting for Darca to arrive for lunch
And this is where we had a wonderful lunch! The Clay Pigeon (http://claypigeonrestaurant.com/).
And finally…
What is that bright light out there?

A sunny day yesterday brought the painters back. I was just thinking how funny (funny isn’t the first word I thought of) we are. 4+ months of non-stop sun and begging for rain, then one week of cloud and rain makes us long for the sun again and complain that summer is over. Silly humans.
The painted the back steps (steps have been painted with paint of the non-slip variety in a red fortunately very similar in shade to the red found everywhere else on the house…just letting you know…)
The front steps
Finished the trim above the deck door
And did some touch-ups and second coats on bits and pieces around the house. They are back today, so we’ll see how much they get done. Shouldn’t be long now before I can post the full retrospective M-R!
And now…
Wait…it’s Friday!!

It’s going to be a busy day today, but it’s Friday – and a long weekend coming up!
Of course, every day is a long weekend for these guys….
Is it Friday yet?

Seriously. I’ve been thinking it’s a day later than it is for most of the week. And there are still 2 very jam-packed days to go. I literally have no more room in my days today or tomorrow for anyone else to see me. I am SO glad there’s a long weekend coming up!
I was shocked to find out that the painters had been back yesterday in spite of the rain. They did some second coats on things, and painted the deck door. They are hoping (finally) to finish up over the weekend. No more contractors at our house for awhile please!
And now, Elliot…
…and Jasper.
Wordless Wednesday (because I’m too lazy for words today)
