Bloganuary 2024, Day 16: Where can you reduce clutter in your life?
Something to get me going for January, Bloganuary. Day 16: Where can you reduce clutter in your life?
Oh, so many aspects of my life could do with a good decluttering. The house, of course. It’s amazing how when you move into a bigger house you find ways to fill it up, and so on and so on. If we ever downsize, and our next place will be smaller, we need to make sure to get rid of stuff BEFORE packing everything and moving!
Then there is my brain. How do you declutter the activity in the brain? Meditation helps smooth things out and helps you find a way through it, but then more is added to the pile. Does it get better when you retire?

heck, yeah!!! Decluttering might not be someone’s idea of how to start retirement, but doing a good cleaning feels as good as leaving your job on your last day and saying, “Good-bye! See ya’ never!” Or, you know, words to that effect.
Something to look forward to, although I think I should not wait to clean for five years…
Meditation certainly helps! Mindfulness can help as well. Mindfulness is the practice of being fully present and engaged in the moment, aware of your thoughts and feelings without judgment. It’s often used for stress reduction and emotional well-being.
Yes it does – I do it every morning, but I need to find ways to bring it into my work day these days…
