September 19-Somethin’ Challenge – September 4

This is Suzanne’s challenge at https://mcclendonvilla.wordpress.com/september-19-somethin-challenge/ , and according to her “This challenge is prompted by the song 19-Somethin’ by Mark Wills. You can hear the song here: https://youtu.be/UhSCeItgUEc   The following questions are taken from the various lines in the song.  There are also a few random questions thrown into the mix to make it a post a day for the month – 30 posts.”

The September 4th question is: Did you have a sports hero? Who was he or she and what was their sport?

Nope.  Never was much for sports (you know, one of those kids last chosen for teams, and thrown on the baseball field by “well-meaning” teachers who somehow assumed every kid knew how to play baseball, and so never bothered to actually teach us how to play…)

But I did have a musical hero in Shostakovich!  Have you ever heard his 10th Symphony??

The September 3rd question is:  Did you ever take something apart just to see how it worked or what was inside it? What was it? What did you find in there?

I can’t tell you what I found in here…she told me not to.

Friday dinner out…and kitty

A response in avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/sidewalk/

It was a long and busy week last week.  Well, I guess it didn’t really feel long, because it was so busy.  The busy-ness was good though…took my mind off other things that are hovering in the background at work.  I love facilitating workshops and helping people, so I felt like I was really doing worthwhile things for a change.  Next week is a short week, but it will be crazy – first week of classes.  Nothing like September at a post-secondary institution!

Anyway, I was tired and didn’t want to cook, and had a Groupon to one of our favourite restaurants, so Kevin and I headed out when he got home and had this…

September 19-Somethin’ Challenge – September 2

Another new challenge – this one for the most of September.

The September 2nd question is: What is the first video game that you remember playing? Were you good at it? What game system did you play it on or was it in an arcade?

Yes, it was Pong, ok??  The original.  Pong.  Who was ever good at Pong?

And, Fall has arrived – bring on the comfort food

Bam! And just like that…”chili” weather (“chili” in quotes since some of you are likely chili purists, and while I don’t know exactly what that means, I am sure my “chili” does not fit your definition – although rest assured, it is delicious!)

September 19-Somethin’ Challenge – September 1

Another new challenge – this one for the most of September.

This is Suzanne’s challenge at https://mcclendonvilla.wordpress.com/september-19-somethin-challenge/ , and according to her “This challenge is prompted by the song 19-Somethin’ by Mark Wills. The September 1st question is:  What movie could you, or did you, see over and over and over again when you were a teenager?

Easy.  The movie I DID see over and over and over again when I was a teenager (and beyond):  Star Wars!!  And now you can guess my age…sigh…I think this will be a fun and interesting challenge!!

The first Kitten Thursday of September!

A response in avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/shiver/

Every month I go, “Unbelievable – it’s already XXX!”  But, I’m ok with it being September.  First of all, autumn is my favourite season (I mean, as you may guess I am going to say, Hallowe’en!!)  And after fall, can Christmas be far behind??

Anyway, the end of August didn’t make much of an impact on kitties.

Elliot continues to try and drink water from the watering can we use for the hanging pots on the porch.

And Jasper continues to keep an eye out for spiders.  Or maybe it’s not spiders.  I don’t know.  There are a lot more spiders around in September.
