NaNo Poblano Day 15: Reflecting on a day of errands
A response in avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt (well, it would be if there had been one posted yet…day two with no Daily Post…hmmm…) AND in non-avoidance of NaNoPoblano 2015 https://rarasaur.wordpress.com/nanopoblano-2015
Well, not an entire day of errands. But a few (important) things we had to do and pick up, followed by a sudden rush to dinner at our favourite restaurant.
First, we went to our favourite coffee roasters to pick up a couple of bags of beans. You can’t really tell from the picture (due to the pouring rain through the window of the car), but the store is called Yoka’s (http://www.yokascoffee.com/) and we go there every couple of weeks to replenish our supply.
Next, it was a trip to Fairway Market (http://www.fairwaymarkets.com/) so Kevin could pick up some special air freshener we can’t get a lot of places in Victoria. This particular Fairway, the one on Quadra, is kind of cool because it carries a lot of speciality Asian foods, so it’s fun just wandering around to see what there is.
Next, we stopped to get gas, well diesel, but I forgot to take a picture of this exciting event. Then it was a quick trip to the camera store so Kevin could suss out options for renting a camera to replace the one in his clinic that needs repairs.
Finally, it was a trip out to Langford – what’s with all the traffic on a Saturday afternoon (yes, afternoon – stupid November early darkness…)
and our favourite wine store, Everything Wine (http://www.everythingwine.ca/).
Where we saw the biggest bottle of wine we’ve ever seen (we did NOT buy it…)
We then went home and Kevin decided we should try to get ourselves out for my belated birthday dinner. He called a couple of places he had groupons for, but they were full, so he called our absolutely favourite place in town, Olo (http://www.olorestaurant.com/), and miraculously there was a cancellation in 20 minutes! So, we quickly changed and ran out the door.
Here is a short gallery of our dinner experience…
BTW, the above was the absolute best dish of the night – a sunflower seed risotto or something. WOW!!
And finally, kitty pictures to end the evening.

Belated birthday dinner looks awesome! And so does the rain even though I’m not a big rain person… maybe your rain is just prettier than mine! 😀
Thanks! The rain always looks better from the other side of a window 🙂
Sounds like an eventful day! I’m so jealous, we’ve been wanting to visit Victoria for some time.
It’s really is a beautiful city – I never actually visited until I moved here!
