S is for…
I am very disappointed. I don’t seem to have any pictures of this room when we bought the house. Doh! It had 2 beds and assorted little bedside tables, and a chair, and this dresser. Which we still have, but I don’t know for how long. There has been talk of turning it into a vanity…someday…
Anyway, this room hasn’t had a lot done to it. The floors weren’t too bad, so we left them.
We changed the light fixture (as we have in most of the rooms), and I am still in the process of taking off the wallpaper (NOT over unpainted drywall, so coming off pretty well), and once that’s done, I need to finish prepping the walls and then paint them. Soon…
Here it is after we moved in
I guess we did have the windows fixed so that the glass is not broken and they also open now. That was nice to have done.
And here it is today (well, there is a LOT less wallpaper today – this was taken several months ago):
So, that’s it for now in this room. Another room where I have to promise to show FINAL after pictures – I promise (that’s for you, M-R!)

again, love the old furniture. This house is gorgeous! I don’t know if I would be up for the challenge of so much work 🙂
Thanks! I don’t know if I’m up for the challenge either! But I’m in for the long haul (or the haul as long as we make it).
I get that
It looks so much nicer. I’m always impressed by people who have the patience to fix up a house. Maybe I just have too many other things going on, but I think it would drive me absolutely insane. Because I’m impatient.
Nice job!
True Heroes from A to Z
Well, I don’t have a LOT of patience, so things in small doses for me with a lot of time off in between. Makes for a slow process, but I am much less stressed out about it! Thanks for visiting!
I also love the old furniture. And the cat. When the cat claims a space in my house, we tend to leave it undisturbed, because the cats come first, you know. Nice to “meet” you through the A to Z blogging challenge! (Also love the name of your blog).
Thanks! And yes, in our house, it’s all about the cats. Thanks for visiting!
Wow, what a huge project. I’ve really enjoyed looking back over your posts and seeing the transformation. I have always lived in rented houses and it is my dream to own my own house and be able to make it into a real home. thanks for sharing.
It is a bit daunting some days…all days…more than a bit daunting. It is fun, however, putting your own stamp on things, so to speak! Thanks for visiting!
Love it ALL, Em ! – and want a before and after of every single room. Just so’s you don’t forget. What’s more, I’ll betcha everyone who follows you would love to see the whole lot in a gallery, too ! Betcha five bucks. [grin]
I have had the gallery thoughts for sure, and will start putting that together after the A to Z challenge is done. That will also give me a place to add all those final “afters” that “people” will keep reminding me to do! 🙂
They will. It’s true. [grin]
I am SO impressed with what the pair of you have done and are still doing, honestly !
Taking wall paper off yourself? I was faced with that task some months ago, but due to being told it was adhered to unpainted drywall, I opted to pay someone. Turns out the drywall was painted, and the person who told me that was mistaken, but I am still glad someone else did it, even if it cost extra. Good for you, though. Such projects always leave me feeling accomplished.
Best regards,
Elizabeth
PS: Visiting from the A to Z sign up page
Oh the painted drywall rooms have been relatively easy, if time-consuming, but NOTHING like the Master! What a nightmare! It is nice to have someone else do the work sometimes though. But yes, definitely it does give that feeling of accomplishment.
Thanks for visiting!
Thanks for sharing; I enjoy looking at houses–and before and after pictures. Remodelling is challenging. As for removing wallpaper, arrgghh!!!
It was fun to finally put all those photos together – I had almost forgotten about some of them. Glad you enjoyed them!
