It’s been a busy day – just got home from the movies, gotta eat something and go to bed.
Also gotta be thankful to Volkswagen for treating us to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them! I want to see it again!! 🙂

These were a couple of scenes from my lunch-hour walk today. I don’t want to live anywhere else!

The yard, that is. Thankful that we live in a place where we can be planting and cleaning up the yard all year round!
Sorry it’s such a mess out there…
NaNoPoblano – Day 10 (November 10): Goodbye to an artist

To top off a week (and quite frankly, a year) full of angst and a little despair, today we lost a legend.

That is all – thankful we had him in the world for 82 years.
NaNoPoblano – Day 9 (November 9): Thankful for fresh air and kitties
Go NaNoPloblano (National Blog Posting Month) (https://cheerpeppers.wordpress.com/) ! And day 9 of 30 Days of Thankfulness (https://mcclendonvilla.wordpress.com/2016/10/29/30-days-of-thankfulness/).
I’m not going to rehash my feelings from today – I imagine many of you have been feeling the same way. I am thankful that, for me at least, life goes on and the ordinary has been my anchor today.
The ordinariness of a work meeting with colleagues, and a great conversation that looks like it’s going to lead to a fun project.
The ordinariness of a garden that desperately needs to be cleaned up (I sure hope the long weekend isn’t rainy!)
The ordinariness of kittens wanting to be fed and scratched.
I am finding comfort in these things today, and I hope those ordinary things help others get through all that is happening, and all that will happen over the next while.
May all be well; may all be happy; may all be free from suffering.
NaNoPoblano – Day 8 (November 8): No words
Go NaNoPloblano (National Blog Posting Month) (https://cheerpeppers.wordpress.com/) ! And day 8 of 30 Days of Thankfulness (https://mcclendonvilla.wordpress.com/2016/10/29/30-days-of-thankfulness/).
A perfectly beautiful day – how can it possible be November?
Oh, yeah…
But now, it’s bearable
Especially since I can be thankful to be Canadian. My thoughts are with you America…
NaNoPoblano – Day 7 (November 7): Vote
Go NaNoPloblano (National Blog Posting Month) (https://cheerpeppers.wordpress.com/) ! And day 7 of 30 Days of Thankfulness (https://mcclendonvilla.wordpress.com/2016/10/29/30-days-of-thankfulness/).
This evening, I am tired. I spent the day as part of an interview panel, and if you’ve ever done interviews, you are exhausted at the end of the day without feeling like you’ve really done anything. Always an interesting experience though.
But to my point of thankfulness today.
I am not American, but I can tell you, as one of a group of people who have had the right to vote for less than 100 years (which is longer than other people out there!), and as the beneficiary of many of the rights and freedoms afforded to me through people getting out and exercising their right to vote, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE vote. I know it’s hard sometimes to believe that your vote makes a difference, but it does, and it will. So, there you have it. I am thankful to be able to get out there and put an X on a ballot (at least that’s the way we do it here in Canada – easy-peasy and no confusion!!) So, dammit, just do it!
And I will tell you one final thing – if you don’t vote, don’t complain to me about the outcome!
And now, a picture of a kitten!
NaNoPoblano – Day 6 (November 6): Ah, garlic
Go NaNoPloblano (National Blog Posting Month) (https://cheerpeppers.wordpress.com/) ! And day 6 of 30 Days of Thankfulness (https://mcclendonvilla.wordpress.com/2016/10/29/30-days-of-thankfulness/).
What am I thankful for today? Lots of things that I am always thankful for (family, friend, Kevin, kitties, etc.), but today the spotlight is on: Garlic.
Why? I don’t understand the question.
