Blogging from A to Z Challenge: 2020 Theme Reveal!

Welcome to the Great and Powerful Blogging from A to Z 2020 Theme Reveal!

This is the 11th year of the challenge, and I’ve been a participant since 2014.  Every year I choose a theme, and every year I blog it on the fly.  But this year will be different!  I am starting to write my posts now – it is giving me a creative break from the chaos that is my eLearning life during the coronavirus panic at my college, as all courses are moving from face to face to alternative delivery.

Before I reveal my 2020 theme, here are themes from challenges past:

  • 2014:  I blogged about our house, and the befores and afters of the renos we did and changes we made after buying it.
  • 2015: I blogged about interesting places in Victoria (all close to home).
  • 2016: I blogged about learning to use my DSLR
  • 2017: I blogged about my ‘hood in Welcome to James Bay!
  • 2018: I blogged about the wonderful world of wabi-sabi in photographs.
  • 2019:  I blogged about A picture-story a day (in the life, so to speak)

And now, my Blogging from A to Z Challenge 2020 Theme!  Drum roll please…..

Female Photographers!

Yes – I wanted to blog photography, and then I thought, hey – I need to learn more about photography.  So, should I blog about this history of photography?  Or what about photographers?  Names would be easy for A-Z, so I started listing photographers’ names, and then realized, what is with all these male names?  I need to blog about female photographers!  So, that’s what I am going to do.  A little research, a little writing, and maybe some photography “in the style of…” to challenge me further.

I have my list, but I am not posting it yet as it may change (since I still need a bit of flying by the seat of my pants for this challenge)!

So, I will see you on April 1st for my first Female Photographers post!

Fandango’s One Word Challenge: Contemplate

“Welcome to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). It’s designed to fill the void after WordPress bailed on its daily one-word prompt. Today’s word is “Contemplate.””

RagTag Daily Prompt: Hang On

A response in starting over with a new daily avoidance (or non-avoidance, as the case may be), here with the Ragtag Daily Prompt , today is  Hang On.”

Missing my training sessions, even the exercises where I have to hang on for dear life!!

March Photo a Day Challenge, Day 22: Vibrant

Here is City Sonnet’s March Photo a Day Challenge!

Today’s theme is: Vibrant.

It was a vibrant day for a walk (albeit, a very quiet walk) yesterday…

March Writing Prompts, Day 22 – Something lost, something given

From Putting My Feet in the Dirt, March’s Writing prompts.

Today, “Something lost, something given”.

This reminds me of something I’ve been thinking a lot about lately.

Over the past few years, I have heard and read a lot of complaints about social media and how much time we spend online, when we should be more social, hanging out with friends, etc.  Now in this time of self isolation and social distancing, where would we be now without all our online technology and social media?  We have indeed lost something, but what we have lost due to social distancing, we have found again through what we used to complain was causing social distance.

2020 365: Day 81 (March 21)

The prompt today is “Signs of the New Season”.

The Herons are back!!

First Caturday since remote office-ing

Yes, I have now been remote office-ing for two days.  And as of last Thursday evening, Kevin’s clinic (optometry) is now closed, so he will also be home.  Luckily we have the ocean nearby, a grocery store still open, albeit on reduced hours, a wine store (open for now) and kitties!  Stay safe and take care of each other!

Fandango’s One Word Challenge: Pass

“Welcome to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). It’s designed to fill the void after WordPress bailed on its daily one-word prompt. Today’s word is “Pass.””

I couldn’t pass up the chance to take a picture of all the little rock sculptures someone couldn’t pass up the chance to build on my walk the other day.  Simple pleasures in these complicated times.

RagTag Daily Prompt: Looking Within

A response in starting over with a new daily avoidance (or non-avoidance, as the case may be), here with the Ragtag Daily Prompt , today is  Looking Within.”

No use trying to look within now.  This store was already closed B.C. (you know what I mean), but most stores now look the same…  Take care everyone!
