September Writing Prompts, Day 5 – Noctilucent clouds
From Putting My Feet in the Dirt (https://puttingmyfeetinthedirt.com/), September’s prompts are here: https://puttingmyfeetinthedirt.com/2019/09/01/september-2019-writing-prompts/
And today, the prompt is “Noctilucent clouds”.
Now that’s a very cool word, noctilucent. Noctilucent! No idea what it means. Oh…it goes with the clouds, as in night shining clouds! Or “tenuous cloud-like phenomena in the upper atmosphere of Earth. They consist of ice crystals and are only visible during astronomical twilight.” There is a word for everything, and if there isn’t, we make it up (covfefe), although it really only works if people can figure out what you are trying to tell them.
There were no noctilucent clouds in the sky this morning as I walked to the gym. But I guess I wouldn’t expect there to be given that the definition says they are only visible at twilight. Maybe I’ll have a look later…but more likely, I’ll forget.
