July Writing Prompts, Day 5 – Phoenix sand

From Putting My Feet in the Dirt (https://puttingmyfeetinthedirt.com/), July’s prompts are here: https://puttingmyfeetinthedirt.com/2019/07/01/july-2019-writing-prompts/

And today, July 5, the prompt is “Phoenix sand”

I knew I would eventually have a prompt I didn’t have a clue what to do with.  I am not a fiction writer, at least I don’t consider myself as such.  Phoenix sand sounds a bit like fantasy, or Harry Potter fan fiction.  Or maybe it’s the litter box of a cat named Phoenix.  Or perhaps it’s a paint colour.  Paint colours do have some pretty bizarre names.  Like Black Bean Soup, or Waterbury Cream, or Nantucket Grey, which isn’t really grey at all, but green…at least to me.  Phoenix sand sounds like a colour that might work in our upstairs bathroom – I’ll have to check out Benjamin Moore!

Now, here it Nantucket Grey and Waterbury Cream in action!

  1. Perfect! Love this interpretation, Emily. <3

  2. litter box of a cat named Phoenix–makes sense to me!

  3. And did you know… the idea for this prompt came from a paint swatch. Lol… 😉

    • That’s too funny!!

      • Lol…. it was last year when my daughters and I were sitting at a store waiting for our car to get fixed. And then only thing around to look at was paint swatches. So we decided to write some prompts based off of them. Oh the ways we pass the time sometimes. Lol…
