Blogging from A to Z Challenge: N is for…Nicholas (#AtoZChallenge)

Welcome to my April 2019 Great and Powerful Blogging from A to Z Challenge!

I’ve revealed my theme (A picture-story a day (in the life, so to speak)), and as I have every year, I am going to be blogging my theme letters on the fly – this year I didn’t even plan to do otherwise!  So, here goes nothing 🙂

Today, N is for…Nicholas!!

Of course it is!  Now, Nicholas is our oldest kitten.  He joined our household about 11 years ago to keep Dexter company.  Dexter joined us after Finnegan left us – Simon, who had lived with Finnegan for 13 years, was lonely.  Dexter, however, was a rambunctious kitten, so Nicholas saved the day, keeping Simon from going crazy and giving Dexter someone to run around with!  As it turned out, Nicholas (who had been a feral kitten and was very scared of humans) fell in love with Simon, a fellow black kitty.  So he played with Dexter and followed Simon around everywhere.

Now, since having dental surgery several years ago – surgery which obviously alleviated a lot of pain – Nicholas is much happier around Kevin and I, but unfortunately, after that surgery, Elliot decided he hated Nicholas.  So, when Elliot is elsewhere, Nico will come out to play with Jasper, but otherwise stays hidden in his room.

That was a very long, convoluted story to explain to you why we don’t have a lot of Nicholas pictures, but here is a brief gallery from over the years for you!!

  1. Thanks for the back story on Nico. When Teemu came home after being in the hospital for several days, Kitty would not go near him for the longest time. Cats have some weird vibes…..

  2. Nicholas is such a pretty kitty! I liked hearing his story. 🙂

  3. You’re making me miss my black cats now…

  4. I didn’t even realise Nicholas existed until recently!

  5. His coat is heavenly of shine. Too bad about losing his buddy to weird smells or whatever spooked him. 🙁
My Catticus is WAY happier here than he was in Georgia and we can’t imagine why. Cats are weird, let’s love them anyway <3

  6. He sure is a looker!
