So, I planned to do some more prep in the back porch and to continue on into the bathroom – here is the bathroom (for my “before” pictures once there is an “after”).

Ok.  I confess that I didn’t do much today.  I took down the mirrors and the shower curtain, then did some patching on the walls.  I did NOT, however, tackle the ceiling (which needs to be scraped and patched), nor did I do any sanding.  I’ll do all that tomorrow.  Here is what it looks like now:

What I DID do today was start a course.  Well, the course doesn’t start until Monday, but given that it is an online course, I went through the course site, reviewed the schedule and the assignments, and then did some reading.  Here is my course site and my textbook.  Looks exciting, eh?

So, lazy about housework and other physical things today, but still working hard 🙂

So, I did do some more prep in the back porch, but it was all sanding and spackling – nothing that will show any difference in a photo.  However, I DID trim the front camellia bushes – something I have been meaning to do for quite some time.   And you’ll be proud of me because I had to get on a ladder to do this (and the sanding in the porch).

So, during these 3 weeks off of work, I’ll be working…on some things in the house.  There is always something to avoid, er, I mean, do in an old house like this.  So, the main things I want to do inside over the next three weeks are:  paint the little tiny porch at the back of the house, paint the main floor bathroom, strip wallpaper off the stairwell walls (or as much of it as I can without a ladder…I’m not getting up on a ladder in the stairwell for ANYONE!).

So, today I did some prep in the back porch area.  It’s a small space, but was originally covered in wallpaper.  Now, imagine me swearing to myself just now as I realized that this is the ONE space I don’t have a real “before” picture of.  Sigh…

I do, however have befores and afters of one of the two doors…Why, oh why don’t I have a “before” of the deck door???  You can see the after below…

Anyway, I got the leftover wallpaper out from the door frames and chair rail, and then patched the big hole above the deck door.

And now I will need to sand that tomorrow, wash the walls, and then paint!  Here is the space now:

This is the idea, although that gold is too dark – we have a lighter version we will use instead.

So, tomorrow, the adventure continues!!
