Cheese!! (and a new ornament)
A response in avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/pillage/
So, last evening friends Judy and Gord came over for dinner, which was steelhead trout and wild rice, but which started with…wait for it… CHEESE!!
It was our last social evening of the season, and now the Christmas tablecloth will be packed away for another year.
But, there was one more seasonal ornament placed on our tree – a Christmas parade truck by Judy (you know – the one who made the flu/cold virus ornaments, and Carbon, as well as the Zombie Flamingo which was the inspiration for this blog). There is a bit of a story behind this. Every Christmas there is a Truck Parade which starts down here in James Bay and travels all the way to Oak Bay, where Judy and Gord live. It’s a weird event with large trucks covered with lights, spewing toxic fumes across all the observers, in a city where idling cars can be ticketed, and where cars have to pass emission tests to be on the roads. But hey, it’s Christmas!
And now, we have our own Truck Parade truck on our tree – thanks Judy and Gord!!!
