Christmas Writing Prompt #1 – Last Christmas
I am trying my hand at a couple of December/Christmas-lead-up challenges this year. I just posted my first Christmas Countdown post, and now I am looking at the Christmas Writing Prompt (at https://ourrandomview.wordpress.com/2016/12/01/christmas-writing-prompt-1-last-christmas/).
So, for day one of this challenge, we are asked to cast our minds back to last Christmas and share memories from it:
- Who did you spend it with?
- What did you watch on TV?
- What games did you play?
- What gifts did you give and receive?
Oh man. Here we go with the memory again. Last Christmas, eh? Well, I know I spent part of it with Kevin… I also remember having Christmas breakfast at mom and dad’s, where we would have opened our stockings. Then Kevin and I likely went home to open presents from his sister and our friends in North Van. Mom and dad and friend Darca then came over for dinner. I think we probably made a roast, that mom would have picked up, and lots of vegetarian dishes since Darca is vegetarian. We may have watched a movie as well. Perhaps last year was when we watched Alice at the Palace on YouTube? Oh, man. I just don’t remember! Ok, maybe my resolution for the coming year (and perhaps starting now) needs to be journaling my daily adventures!!
Hey, what do you know? I was right! At least about the Christmas breakfast, and a roast for dinner!

I love how the table is laid out in the last pic with all the candles. It has a magical classical sort of feel to it and makes me want to eat dinner by candlelight.
Thanks! We do like to eat by candlelight!!
Your Christmas day last year sounds lovely, and very pretty photos. 🙂 Is this and the other post about Dec. challenges the ones you mentioned? I will give them a try. 🙂
They are! I just picked them out today, and there is one more (at https://deansdigest.wordpress.com/2016/12/01/xmasartchallenge16day-1-yourself-in-an-x-mas-jumper/) I may also jump into…we’ll see! Hope you are having a good evening.
Aww, very nice, Emily. Your dining room table is so warm and inviting, I love that. Blessings to you and your family for Christmas this year! <3
To you too! 🙂
Heck, I don’t remember yesterday, let along almost a year ago! 😀
Me too! It’s equally likely none of the above ever actually happened… 🙂
