Driving out to the wine store – this is 5:30 pm…sigh…

And on the way back, stopping at the grocery for a few things, NOT including Christmas plants.  I just thought, hey, there are Christmas plants…

And for today, I think it’s time to decorate the house.  We have relatives from ‘MuriKa coming next Saturday for a visit (and to pick out colours for their future home in our Canadian basement), so we need to add a little pre-Christmas cheer to the place!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Magic

“Children have the ability to believe without bias, to find wonder even in the most mundane of places and objects. As adults, we become dulled to the magic inherent to life, and perhaps we stop seeking it altogether. However, as photographers, we have an opportunity to reclaim it. Magic and beauty can be conjured in the simplest of photographs, which may then inspire wonder in the viewer.  For this week’s challenge, find some magic, and charm us with it. ”  (https://dailypost.wordpress.com/photo-challenges/magic/)

A few magical moments from the beautiful place we live.

Three Things Thursday, November 17

Three Things Thursday from Nerd in the Brain is “three things that make me smile: an exercise in gratitude – feel free to steal this idea with wild abandon and fill your blog with the happy” (https://fullgrownnerd.com/2016/11/17/three-things-thursday-november-17-2016/)

Three things from my week that made me smile.  Now that I think about it, it hasn’t been a bad week at all!

Cee’s Which Way Challenge: November 16, 2016

And today for Cee’s Which Way Challenge!   https://ceenphotography.com/2016/11/16/cees-which-way-photo-challenge-november-16-2016/

“This all about capturing the roads, walks, trails, rails, steps, etc. we move from one place to another on.  You can walk on them, climb them, drive them, ride on them, as long as the specific way is visible.  Any angle of a bridge is acceptable as are any signs.”

All ways lined with leaves…

Macro Moments Challenge: Week 19

Week 10 of Macro Moments from Musin’ with Susan (https://musinwithsusan.com).   (https://musinwithsusan.com/2016/11/16/macro-moments-challenge-week-19-broaden-your-scope/).  Just to remind you (and me), here’s how the challenge works:

  • Choose a favorite macro photo  from the past week or from your archives.
  • Add the photo to your post and a brief description. I would love to know, as I am sure others would, too,  what camera and lens you used and your settings.

And a few additional instructions for this week:

“For this week’s challenge I am going to try something a little different. The theme of the challenge is, “Broaden Your Scope”. Some of you may not have considered using your macro lens for street, nature or portrait shooting, so this week you are challenged to use your macro lens for anything other than macro!  When you submit your entry, please include the name of the lens that you used and your settings.”

Ok, I know this isn’t really following the instructions, but I don’t have a macro lens for my DSLR – I usually use the Macro setting on my Point and Shoot or my iPhone app.  So, here you go.  The clarity is pretty cool!

Three Line Tales – Week 42

This challenge comes from Sonya at Only100Words (https://only100words.xyz/2016/11/17/three-line-tales-week-forty-two/) , and here are the rules:

“Write three lines to go with the weekly photo prompt (the photos I use are either royalty-free or I’ve been given permission by the photographer to use them; please credit where appropriate) – sideways interpretation is encouraged. The photo is the launch point – take us wherever you fancy.”
