Cee’s Black and White Photo Challenge: Any Seating including Tables and Chairs
For this week’s Cee’s Black and White Photo Challenge: Any Seating including Tables and Chairs (https://ceenphotography.com/2016/08/11/cees-black-white-photo-challenge-any-seating-including-tables-and-chairs/)
“This week the topic is seating in general. Anything from an lawn chair to church pew or zebra printed chair. This also includes couches, tables and chairs, airplane seats. Just make sure that the seating is the main focus of your photo. Have a lot of fun with this topic. Sepia tones and selective color are always allowed in this challenge. I just want you to have some fun with your photography.”
As you know from a previous post, there are a lot of benches around here. Here is one of the more unusual ones I’ve found, in a cluster of 3, out by the cruise ship terminal. Next time I walk that way, I’ll have a seat so I can let you know if it’s comfy or not!
Thursday Doors, August 11 2016
How about another challenge? I’ve been thinking of adding this one to my list for awhile. This and Monday Windows, which I will add on Monday if I remember…
Anyway, this one is Thursday Doors from Norm at Miscellaneous Musings of a Middle-aged Mind (https://miscellaneousmusingsofamiddleagedmind.wordpress.com/2016/08/11/thursday-doors-august-11-2016/)
I do like taking pictures of doors, but when it comes to houses, I feel a bit snoopy pointing my camera at someone’s door. Hence the hidden aspect of this door which I saw yesterday on my walk.
The last Kitten Thursday of my vacation…sigh…

Yes. The last Kitten Thursday of my summer holidays. Alas I am back to work on Monday, in spite of the vote to not go back on Monday. I think this election was rigged! And the kitties agree…r maybe they don’t care. It’s hard to tell.
Cee’s Which Way Challenge: August 10, 2016
And today for Cee’s Which Way Challenge! (https://ceenphotography.com/2016/08/10/cees-which-way-photo-challenge-august-10-2016/)
“This all about capturing the roads, walks, trails, rails, steps, etc. we move from one place to another on. You can walk on them, climb them, drive them, ride on them, as long as the specific way is visible. Any angle of a bridge is acceptable as are any signs.”
Which way in the Park: Bridges edition. Only some of the bridges. There seem to be a lot of them in the Park…
Tuesdays of Texture: Week 33
Tuesdays of Texture from Narami (https://narami.wordpress.com/4486-2/). This week’s challenge page can be found at https://narami.wordpress.com/2016/08/09/tuesdays-of-texture-week-33-of-2016-3/
Some textures I found along my walk this morning. Well, some of them. I am starting to notice textures everywhere now!!
Macro Moments Challenge: Week 8
Week 8 of Macro Moments from Musin’ with Susan (https://musinwithsusan.com). (https://musinwithsusan.com/2016/08/10/macro-moments-challenge-week-8/). Just to remind you (and me), here’s how the challenge works:
- Choose a favorite macro photo from the past week or from your archives.
- Add the photo to your post and a brief description. I would love to know, as I am sure others would, too, what camera and lens you used and your settings.
Grass along the ocean path.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Legs and Feet
For this week’s Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Smiles. (https://ceenphotography.com/2016/08/09/cees-fun-foto-challenge-legs-and-feet/)
“This week’s topic is Legs and Feet. Legs and feet (shoes) can be quite interesting and fun to photograph. Have you ever gone any where like a beach or a mall and just people watched. Try it and just take photos of peoples legs and feet. Totally anonymous and you can have a lot of fun. Animals of course are always fun too. Have fun with this challenge this week. ”
How about a pictures of my happy walking feet from this morning?
Tuesday Photo Challenge – Blue
Here is Dutch Goes the Photo’s (https://dutchgoesthephoto.net) Tuesday photo Challenge. This week’s topic is: Blue (https://dutchgoesthephoto.net/2016/08/09/tuesday-photo-challenge-blue/).
“For this week’s challenge, I’d like you to explore a color: Blue. As we’ve seen with other colors there is a range of expression throughout the varying hues of blue that we encounter. My suggestion is that you take a look around you and identify which shades of blue speak most to you and explore these through your photography, so that you can learn more about them and share that learning with the rest of us.”
Here are a couple of shades of blue from my morning walk…
Lunch with my mom
A response in avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/maybe/
Maybe I’ll not avoid this prompt today…Bazinga!
Yesterday Mom and I went to the Beachhouse (http://beachhousevictoria.com/) for lunch. The Beachhouse is on Cordova Bay Road right on the ocean. It seems to have 3 levels: a cafe, a restaurant (which was booked for a private function) and a Bistro (where we ate).
This is the Bistro level:
And this was the view from our table
The menu
And I had seafood chowder and fish tacos. Yum!
I was full after all that, so just had a latte for dessert, but mom had the key lime pie (and I snuck a few bites…yum again!)
Later I hung with kitties and picked our first zucchini!
Do I really have to go back to work on Monday???
Monday morning
A response in avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/joke/
Well, it’s not Monday morning now, but it was yesterday when I went for my long walk.
I started by walking my normal route. Past Niagara Grocery, and the house next-door that the owner of the Grocery is tearing down.
Then, down to the ocean
And along the sea wall past Clover Point. Haven’t done this walk in awhile.
I had a hankering to walk to the cemetery, and found some wanderers
Little markers like these make me tear up a bit…
But it was nice to see some fresh flowers around. This cemetery is closed now, so it’s good to see that people remember.
This marker was quite striking.
And I ended my walk through the park, where there was actually a band playing in the bandshell!
Home again to kitties to enjoy my last Monday off for awhile…
