Before and After
A response in avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/muse/
And now, the Before and After you’ve been waiting for. The front yard.
Before. Before paint, before a lot of things…
Another angle, just to impress upon you the immensitude of those California lilac bushes dominating our front yard.
Last August (house also painted now…Phew!) Hey – you can see the camellia bushes now!!
Spring – wanted a shot with the camellias blooming.
Earlier this spring. I have to thank my friend and colleague Susan for the lasagne gardening idea. Cardboard on top of the grass, followed by layers of soil, compost and mulch did the trick! In other words, I didn’t have to dig up all that grass. The side yard’s grass will go the same route next year!
And then some mulch on top and bricks placed to frame it out.
And finally…
We will still be planting a few things out there this summer, once I decide what, and there will be lots of bulbs in the spring! Looking forward to taking more pictures next year 🙂

Lovely 🙂
Thanks! We’re pretty happy to have some things planted finally!!
It always seems to take longer than we think it should, but then I think it’s more rewarding 🙂
I also say we took our time really thinking about how we wanted to plant things…that’s what I think…
Cool, Emily!!! I love the color you painted your house. Very cool. And neat on your lasagne landscaping (what a name ☺). Blessings on your home.
Loving,
Debbie
Thanks! We tried to go back to colours that would be close to the original. It sure looks a lot better now!
