Cee’s Black and White Photo Challenge: Older than 50 Years
For this week’s Cee’s Black and White Photo Challenge: Older than 50 Years (https://ceenphotography.com/2016/07/21/cees-black-white-photo-challenge-older-than-50-years-2/)
“This week we get to look to the past. I only want to see photos of things that are 50 years old or older. Old building, cars, bridges, trees, relics, rusty and crusty items are always allowed as long as I can still tell what it was. ”
This is the Old Victoria Custom House, built in 1875. I think it qualifies!
Here is the Chinese Cemetery, which opened in 1903, and closed in the 1950s.
And this, this is our home. Built in 1907, it became a care home in the 1950s, then a B&B in the 1980s, until around 2002 when it was shut down. It sat “empty” (quotes used because it was full of all the furniture and assorted knick-knacks from it’s B&B days) until we bought it in 2012. It has become a friend.

What is that big building behind your house? Is it as close as it looks?
There is an apartment/condo building the block behind us. It’s not right behind us, but across the street on the next block. We don’t even notice it (much) any more…
What a pretty house you have and such an interesting history, too. 🙂
Thanks! It is a work in progress, but we love it!!
You’re welcome. I think that all houses are a work in progress. I know ours sure is. haha Have a blessed day. 🙂
Wonderful selection of photos of things over 50 years old for this challenge.
Thanks! I would have taken a picture of myself, but I don’t do selfies 🙂
