November Writing Prompts, Day 3 – Windmill waltzes

From Putting My Feet in the Dirt, November’s Writing prompts.

Today, “Windmill waltzes”.

I can just see those windmills waltzing across the prairies.  We don’t have windmills here.  At least I don’t think so, not that we get around much to look.  I just remember seeing them when we drove back to Saskatchewan, great fields of them slicing through the air, almost in tandem but not quite.  Not quite the advanced dance class, but impressive none the less.

November Writing Prompts, Day 2 – Butterfly wings and bear paws

From Putting My Feet in the Dirt, November’s Writing prompts.

Today, “Butterfly wings and bear paws”.

Butterfly wings and bear paws.  Sounds like some fancy new pastry.  I can just see the shop now:

“Get your Bear Paws here, and don’t forget to add those butterfly wings to your order!”

Tourists will eat anything 🙂  Me, I prefer bacon wrapped scallops…hmmmm…must be supper time!

November Writing Prompts, Day 1 – Sweet chaos

From Putting My Feet in the Dirt, November’s Writing prompts.

Today, “Sweet chaos”.

Ah, I long for the sweet chaos that were (was?) Hallowe’ens past.

Hallowe’ens in pre-pandemic times, with bars open for floods of people in costumes, pouring out and wandering the streets of downtown laughing, singing, whatever crazy drunk people do on October 31.

The sweet chaos of kids trick or treating, with no chutes sending treats, hopefully the good ones, down to waiting baskets.

Instead, chaos is reined in with curfews and arrows in the aisles.

November Writing Prompts, Day 14 – Droplets of dread

From Putting My Feet in the Dirt (https://puttingmyfeetinthedirt.com/), November’s prompts are here: https://puttingmyfeetinthedirt.com/2019/11/01/november-2019-writing-prompts/

Not droplets of dread so much as streams of joy!

November Writing Prompts, Day 13 – The gobstopper gang

From Putting My Feet in the Dirt (https://puttingmyfeetinthedirt.com/), November’s prompts are here: https://puttingmyfeetinthedirt.com/2019/11/01/november-2019-writing-prompts/

They stopped gobs, that gobstopper gang.  But no one ever asked what kind of gobs they stopped.

November Writing Prompts, Day 12 – Hard cider hangover

From Putting My Feet in the Dirt (https://puttingmyfeetinthedirt.com/), November’s prompts are here: https://puttingmyfeetinthedirt.com/2019/11/01/november-2019-writing-prompts/

Another conundrum.  Was it a was it a hangover from hard cider, or a…hmmm…hard “cider-hangover”?  Whatever that means.  Was it difficult?  Challenging?  Maybe very very solid?  I guess we will never know.

November Writing Prompts, Day 11 – The Starlite Inn

From Putting My Feet in the Dirt (https://puttingmyfeetinthedirt.com/), November’s prompts are here: https://puttingmyfeetinthedirt.com/2019/11/01/november-2019-writing-prompts/

Yes, it’s called The Empress now, but once it was the Starlite Inn.  Don’t ask me why the name changed…if I told you, I would have to kill you.

*note – this is a totally false story…or is it?

November Writing Prompts, Day 8 – Soup kitchen killers

From Putting My Feet in the Dirt (https://puttingmyfeetinthedirt.com/), November’s prompts are here: https://puttingmyfeetinthedirt.com/2019/11/01/november-2019-writing-prompts/

So, are these people who go to soup kitchens and kill people there, or are these people who kill soup kitchens?  Or maybe they are soups that kill kitchens.  There is no way of knowing for sure!

November Writing Prompts, Day 7 – Water glass whistles

From Putting My Feet in the Dirt (https://puttingmyfeetinthedirt.com/), November’s prompts are here: https://puttingmyfeetinthedirt.com/2019/11/01/november-2019-writing-prompts/

My water glass whistles to me, but my wine glass seductively winks, so what am I to do?

November Writing Prompts, Day 6 – The mommy mutiny

From Putting My Feet in the Dirt (https://puttingmyfeetinthedirt.com/), November’s prompts are here: https://puttingmyfeetinthedirt.com/2019/11/01/november-2019-writing-prompts/

The mommy mutiny.  I like that it’s THE mommy mutiny.  Sounds a bit like the mutiny on the Bounty.  Like a bunch of mommies got together one day and threw daddy overboard with the kids.  I myself am mommy only to kitties, Mother of Kittens…  I don’t tent to mutiny against being a kitty mommy – first of all, they are low maintenance and pretty nice to have around, second if I didn’t feed them, well, let’s just say it wouldn’t end well…for me.
