Just Jot it January, 2026: January 1
Your prompt for JusJoJan January 1, 2026, is Mindfulness.
I luckily was the first to comment on Linda’s request for prompts for this challenge, so today is my word: Mindfulness.
Many of us feel our minds bouncing from place to place, moment to moment, wondering what we could have done differently or what we need to be doing in five minutes. We often struggle with just being present in the moment because we feel the need to be doing “something.” Today I challenge you to sit (or stand), close your eyes (or just rest your gaze) and breathe to the count of ten. Just try it! Then tomorrow, try it again. Maybe counting to eleven… Or just find a place to sit and watch the world go by. Let me know how you do in the comments!

I can’t believe it’s the end of January and the final day of another Just Jot it January.. It’s been fun posting again this year – it has also been good for my soul given all the turmoil in the world, and the upheaval we are facing in our workplace with cuts and layoffs coming on quickly.
So, cheers to another Just Jot It in the books!

Just Jot it January, 2025: January 25
Your prompt for JusJoJan January 25, 2025, is in line.
Last Sunday we went to hubby’s colleague’s post-holiday party (because they had not gotten around to planning an actual holiday party until it was too late.) The chosen venue; a pinball and pizza parlor. Verdict: interesting. Neither of us had played pinball in a very very long time, but with free tokens, who could resist giving it a try? Of course they are all computerized now, not the old analogue games we grew up with, but still kind of fun. And the cocktails and pizza were good too. But, we wondered: who puts together pizza, greasy food eaten with your hands, and pinball machines, which are played by many hands all night long, and not a hand sanitizer bottle to be found? Glad we didn’t think about that until after I had eaten my pizza (before I played any pinball…)
Here are only a very few of the machines, all in a line.

As I have indicated before in this space, one of my hobbies is photography, and specifically taking pictures out the car window from the passenger side while we are out and about running errands. I just can’t help myself!
