Just Jot it January, 2019: January 31

“Your prompt for JusJoJan 2019, January 31st is “your favorite thing/part/blog post of last year or last month.” Talk about what you did or discovered that gave you happiness and/or success. Have fun!” (https://lindaghill.com/2019/01/31/jusjojan-2019-daily-prompt-jan-31st/)

I can’t believe it’s the final day of Just Jot it January.  Thanks for another great challenge Linda!  I may not have kept up with my initial thought of posting 500 words a day in my prompt posts, but I did make it for every day of the challenge, so Cheers to you all!!

“Your prompt for JusJoJan 2019, January 30th, is One-Liner Wednesday!” (https://lindaghill.com/2019/01/30/jusjojan-2019-daily-prompt-jan-30th-and-one-liner-wednesday/)

No matter where you go, there you are…

“Your prompt for JusJoJan 2019, January 29th is brought to you by Jim! Click here to find his last post and say hi while you’re there! Jim’s word for our prompt today is “dirty.” Use it anywhere in your post or make it the theme of your post. And remember, if it’s not safe for work, please mention that fact either early on or in the title of your post. Have fun!” (https://lindaghill.com/2019/01/29/jusjojan-2019-daily-prompt-jan-29th/)

Dirty?  Or clean???

“Your prompt for JusJoJan 2019, January 28th is brought to you by Dan! Click here to find his last post and say hi while you’re there! Dan’s word for our prompt today is “testify.” Use it anywhere in your post or make it the theme of your post. Have fun!” (https://lindaghill.com/2019/01/28/jusjojan-2019-daily-prompt-jan-28th/)

I just want to take a moment to testify that this buttery cauliflower veloute (fancy name for soup) was to die for!

“Your prompt for JusJoJan 2019, January 27th is brought to you by Enthralling Journey! Click here to find her last post and say hi while you’re there! Enthralling Journey’s word for our prompt today is “cathartic.” Use it anywhere in your post or make it the theme of your post. Have fun!” (https://lindaghill.com/2019/01/27/jusjojan-2019-daily-prompt-jan-27th/)

What do I find cathartic?  Taking pictures of things, writing on my blog, kickboxing (yes – it is REALLY cathartic!), and, of course, fire and  kittens!  Some of the best catharsis at the end of a long day at work…

Just Jot it January, 2019: January 26

“Your prompt for #JusJoJan and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “ad/add/AD (Anno Domini).” Use one, use ’em all–bonus points if you fit them all into your post. Have fun!” (https://lindaghill.com/2019/01/25/the-friday-reminder-for-socs-jusjojan-2019-daily-prompt-jan-26th/)

In AD 2019, they will continue to add to the list of indicted people, ad nauseum (we can only hope).  Do I win?

“Your prompt for JusJoJan 2019, January 25th is brought to you by JP! Click here to find her last post (honestly, I’m assuming JP’s a her–sorry, JP, if I’m wrong) and say hi while you’re there! JP’s word for our prompt today is “balance.” Use it anywhere in your post or make it the theme of your post. Have fun!” (https://lindaghill.com/2019/01/25/jusjojan-2019-daily-prompt-jan-25th/)

Balance is very important in life.

Physically, you can balance on one foot (it’s a lot harder when you’re standing on a bosu!), perhaps on one hand, or on your head.  If you take yoga, you learn a lot about balancing in many different ways.  Vertigo makes it very hard to find your balance.  I can’t look over a balcony without feeling like I’m going to lose my balance.

Mentally, you can have a balanced work-life situation, or balanced and controlled feelings.

You can balance your budget, balance the scales of justice, find a balance between two opposing points of view (this is sometimes called a compromise, the meaning of which a certain tangerine POTUS doesn’t seem to understand).

You, hopefully, have a bank balance, or hopefully don’t have a balance owing on your Visa.

In music, you need to have the right balance of the orchestra to the soloist, assuming you want to hear the poor flute player.

A balance is a kind of scale, or the regulating thingy in a watch or clock.

And on this blog, I need to provide you with a good balance of kitten photos to counteract all the writing I have done about balance…

“Your prompt for JusJoJan 2019, January 24th is brought to you by Bee! Click here to find her last post and say hi while you’re there! Bee’s word for our prompt today is “zoomie.” Interpret it any way you’d like, and use it anywhere in your post or make it the theme of your post. Have fun!!” (https://lindaghill.com/2019/01/24/jusjojan-2019-daily-prompt-jan-24th/)

Like many of you out there I am sure, I had to look this up.  There was the Air Force Academy graduate definition – yeah, I don’t have a picture of that.  Then there was the zoomie dog definition, of a dog running all over the place.  Ok – I can work with that.  But only by showing how kittens feel about zoomie dogs.

“Your prompt for JusJoJan 2019, January 22nd is One Liner Wednesday…Have fun!” (https://lindaghill.com/2019/01/23/jusjojan-2019-daily-prompt-jan-23rd-and-one-liner-wednesday/)

Yes, I’ve given up on the 500 word a day challenge.  Well, I am writing 500 words a day, just not all in one post…and not just in blogging.  So, let’s do a one-liner to inspire you in the morning…

Just Jot it January, 2019: January 22

“Your prompt for JusJoJan 2019, January 22nd is brought to you by Pamela! Click here to find her last post and say hi while you’re there! Pamela’s word for our prompt today is “curiosity.” Use it anywhere in your post or make it the theme of your post. Have fun!” (https://lindaghill.com/2019/01/22/jusjojan-2019-daily-prompt-jan-22nd/)  These Jots are not only my 500-words a day challenge, but also part of my  Ultimate Blogging Challenge challenge (http://ultimateblogchallenge.com)

I think I am a curious person.  Not snoopy, I hope (usually), but curious about trying new things (except slimy food).  I do, however, get tired of people telling me to be “curious” when referring to dealing with people and conflict when it feels more like a cop-out – you know, we don’t want to deal with the conflict, and want you to suck it up, so we are going to tell you to be curious about the situation instead.  I don’t need curiousity to know that some people are just a$$holes.

Yesterday I was curious to see if I could take a picture of flying birds, and I think I did ok (next time, a faster shutter speed…)
