September Writing Prompts, Day 1 – Electric sky

From Putting My Feet in the Dirt (https://puttingmyfeetinthedirt.com/), September’s prompts are here: https://puttingmyfeetinthedirt.com/2019/09/01/september-2019-writing-prompts/

And today, the prompt is “Electric sky”.

All I could think about when faced with the September 1st writing prompt Electric sky, was how one day, when the zombie apocalypse comes calling,  we will no longer see electricity in our skies.  The only question now is, when…

August Writing Prompts, Day 9 – Hiccupping haikus

From Putting My Feet in the Dirt (https://puttingmyfeetinthedirt.com/), August’s prompts are here: https://puttingmyfeetinthedirt.com/2019/08/01/august-writing-prompts-2/

And today, the prompt is “Hiccupping haikus”.

Head between my knees
Holding onto every breath
Will they never stop?

Is that a Haiku?  I’m really bad at this…

August Writing Prompts, Day 8 – Jellyfish jolts

From Putting My Feet in the Dirt (https://puttingmyfeetinthedirt.com/), August’s prompts are here: https://puttingmyfeetinthedirt.com/2019/08/01/august-writing-prompts-2/

And today, the prompt is “Jellyfish jolts”.

Sounds like a kind of gummy, or maybe (even better) a jello shot.  Or maybe one of those energy drinks…I mean, multiple shots probably won’t give you a jolt.

In the meantime, I’ll just stick to wine!  Looks like I need a refill 🙂

August Writing Prompts, Day 7 – Treading lightly

From Putting My Feet in the Dirt (https://puttingmyfeetinthedirt.com/), August’s prompts are here: https://puttingmyfeetinthedirt.com/2019/08/01/august-writing-prompts-2/

And today, the prompt is “Treading lightly”.

So, after just over five weeks off on a wonderful, and somewhat productive, vacation, I went back to work yesterday.  I mention this because I am working on treading lightly, given that some things did not go well in the couple of weeks before my vacation, and I while I am happy to be back to a routine in a job I really do love, I am reticent to allow myself to be too happy or hopeful for a satisfying and collegial workplace at the moment.

So, treading lightly, I will enjoy the people and work I can, and leave the dysfunction to be flushed away into the sewers of what has now passed.  I’m not really sure what that means, but here is a picture which reminded me of flushing, but also shows some of my productivity with painting the bathroom on my holiday (the before picture is below).
