Tuesday Tales

I’m back with Tuesday Tales.  I am taking some writing classes right now, so thought I would share some of that work with y’all. Another poem for you.

Hope

Hope is

chartreuse stems,
daffodils poking

through soil heavy,
wet from winter rains.
Tiny flat heads
of veiled yellow
assuring me
that spring will come.

But February gladly
reminds us

winter was only snoozing,
and the snow —
obliterating stems and heads and all else —

is disappointment

swallowing us whole,

and we wonder, will hope ever

return?

  1. This is the truth! Happens every year it seems. Good poem! 🙂
