Blogging from A to Z Challenge: E is for… (#AtoZChallenge)

Welcome to my April 2024 Great and Powerful Blogging from A to Z Challenge!

I’ve revealed my theme (A poem a day…with picture), and of course, I am unashamedly blogging my theme letters on the fly.  So, here goes nothing!

So, without further ado, E is for Epulaeryu. An Epulaeryu poem is a poem that is entirely about food. It has seven lines with a grand total of thirty-three syllables. The meter of the poem is set so that it is, 7/5/7/5/5/3/1. This means that the first line has seven syllables, the second has five. The third line also has seven syllables. The fourth and fifth lines each have five syllables. The sixth line has three syllables. The seventh and final line concludes with just one syllable.

Ode to Bacon in the form of an Epulaeryu

When I crave salty goodness
there is only one
even with options plenty
there is only one
you know what I mean
bacon is
all

(Bacon Hill, constructed by friend Judy to celebrate me running the marathon…)

Thanks for visiting my 2024 A to Z Challenge – Letter E.

Guess I’m kind of going rogue too…although I do like using the “official” letters…
