Blogging from A to Z Challenge: C is for… (#AtoZChallenge)
Welcome to my April 2024 Great and Powerful Blogging from A to Z Challenge!
I’ve revealed my theme (A poem a day…with picture), and of course, I am unashamedly blogging my theme letters on the fly. So, here goes nothing!
So, without further ado, C is for cinquain. The modern cinquain is based on a word count of words of a certain type. Line 1 has one word (the title). Line 2 has two words that describe the title. Line 3 has three words that tell the action. Line 4 has four words that express the feeling. Line 5 has one word which recalls the title.
The traditional cinquain is based on a syllable count. Twenty-Two syllables in the following pattern (2-4-6-8-2) The traditional cinquain is based on a syllable count. It has five lines, and often, one word in the first line, two words in the second line etc. line 1 – 2 syllables, line 2 – 4 syllables, line 3 – 6 syllables, line 4 – 8 syllables, line 5 – 2 syllables
So, here goes nothing.
Tulips
colourful blooms
arriving in springtime
deer have not eaten you this year
we smile

Thanks for visiting my 2024 A to Z Challenge – Letter C.

Now that, I had never heard of. I’m enjoying your poems.
Thanks very much – this was a new one to me too.
Good instructions on how to do this kind of poem! I like this one, and I’m glad the deer haven’t eaten your tulips! 🙂
Me too!!
I was not familiar with that poetic form. I enjoy learning about it, thank you.
It was kind of a fun one!
