November Poem a Day (PAD) Challenge 2023: Day 29

Hi everyone.

This November I will be presenting to you a month of daily poems as memoir, little ditties to tell you about my day or my thoughts during the day, whatever.  Of course I hope you enjoy them, but it’s ok if you don’t.  Just move on to the next blog in your list.

Day twenty-nine is: “For today’s prompt, take the phrase “(blank) Free,” replace the blank with a new word or phrase, make the new phrase the title of your poem, and then, write your poem. Possible titles might include: “Home Free,” “Fat Free,” “Stress Free,” and/or “Completely Free.” You’re free to poem today, but don’t be poem free.”

Virus Free?

Oh when will I be
virus free?

Coughing and hacky
blowing nose endlessly
Can’t hear normally
head pressured exponentially
Sleeping only sporadically

Oh when will I be
virus free?

  1. Darn. I thought you were getting better.
‘Can’t hear normally’ reminded me of this old Dilbert strip:

    • Hah! I am better, but this is one nasty cold. Several colleagues had the same thing, but I can’t see how I could have gotten it from them since I don’t think I saw any of them in person before I got sick. Virus in Zoom? Sigh…
