Tuesday Tales
Let’s try some poetry – be kind, I really new at this!
Today in my poetry class we tried a number of new writing methods. For this one, we took a poem and wrote our own lines in between each of the poet’s lines, then deleted his lines leaving our own. This is the result from tonight.
Dreams. Inspired by Charles Simic
Welcoming all of us in,
Keeping them out in the rain.
Wandering aimlessly to
Hear the parade passing by.
Imagining someone is home but
Wanting to be left alone.
Creeping along out of sight
While the stars are all in a row.
Dragging his feet, taking coat
Hoping no one has seen.
Beneath the fall-bare trees
Dreaming of clouds and moonlight.

That is sure an interesting way to do a poem. I hadn’t heard of it before, but I like it. Yours turned out really good! 🙂
I am enjoying this class SO much I want to take it again!! Such cool ways to get you writing poems without overthinking it.
Wow ! The result is awesome. I’ll try to remember this method to give it a go. 🙂
It was a fun one!
