30 Day of Composition. August 16: What’s leaving the frame?
Here is today’s post for Emma David Camera Club, remembering that August is all about the 30 Days of Composition.
Every day is a new theme, but I am also challenging myself with an overall theme for the month, Around the House (and Yard), and some weekly sub-themes, this week’s being Black and White.
So, today the theme is What’s leaving the frame? “Do you keep your whole subject in frame? If not, which bits of it will leave the frame, and where? If you’re shooting people (or animals) don’t cut them off at the knees – the rule is to crop between joints (so between ankle and knee, between knee and hip). Pay attention to the edges of your shot for this prompt.”

30 Day of Composition. August 15: Texture
Here is today’s post for Emma David Camera Club, remembering that August is all about the 30 Days of Composition.
Every day is a new theme, but I am also challenging myself with an overall theme for the month, Around the House (and Yard), and some weekly sub-themes, this week’s being Black and White.
So, today the theme is Texture: “This is a bit like the pattern prompt, but you don’t have to keep it regular – what can you find that has an interesting texture, and how can you light it so that we want to reach out and touch it?”

30 Day of Composition. August 14: Form/shape
Here is today’s post for Emma David Camera Club, remembering that August is all about the 30 Days of Composition.
Every day is a new theme, but I am also challenging myself with an overall theme for the month, Around the House (and Yard), and some weekly sub-themes, this week’s being Black and White.
So, today the theme is Form/shape: “Make the image all about the form or shape of your subject.”

2020 365: Day 228 (August 15)
The prompt today is “Traffic.“
Hard to believe that only a few months ago, this was NOT something you saw if you happened to go out.
