Another B&W from our Butchart Gardens outing.

July Photo a Day Challenge, Day 22: Rare

Since I am now on holidays, and will be for the entire month of July, it is only fitting I am challenging myself to a series of daily posts – writing and photography.  So, in addition to RDP and Fandango, here is one from City Sonnet – a July Photo a Day Challenge (https://citysonnet.wordpress.com/2019/07/01/july-photo-a-day-challenge-2/)!

And for this one, I am challenging myself to use a photo taken on the day of the prompt – and all of them will be in black and white!

Today’s prompt is: Rare.

Yup, missed this one yesterday too…sigh…

A rare togetherness naptime.

July Writing Prompts, Day 22 – Sent from my iPhone

From Putting My Feet in the Dirt (https://puttingmyfeetinthedirt.com/), July’s prompts are here: https://puttingmyfeetinthedirt.com/2019/07/01/july-2019-writing-prompts/

And today, July 22, the prompt is “Sent from my iPhone”.

Well, I missed a day.  We were just too busy getting ready for and then having loads of fun with our dinner guests, Gord and Judy (the inspiration for Zombie Flamingos!)

Many things have been sent from my iPhone, or as I like to call it, the emPhone.  Texts, emails, kitten pictures – I don’t know how we lived before iPhones, and other mobile devices.  I mean, I do remember days without them, or without the Internet.  I remember when electric typewriters replaced manual typewriters (most of them) in my highschool.  I remember the days of saving computer code on cassette tape.  Yes indeed.  Things have definitely changed!

Another photo bomb.  Get those flying things out of my way!

Share Your World – July 15, 2019

And now for this week’s Share Your World (https://sparksfromacombustiblemind.com/2019/07/15/syw-7-15-19/

Why do we seem to respect the dead more than the living?

They’re not around to piss us off anymore.

Why is beauty associated with morality?  Or not?   (a few weeks back I asked a similar question, but the key word was MORTALITY, not MORALITY).

Because it makes for a great plot twist.

Have gadgets and apps taken away emotions?

Not taken so much as siphoned off slowly for use when they rise up to destroy us all.

Is there a perfect life?  What’s your version of a perfect life if you care to share?

Do you disagree?

July Photo a Day Challenge, Day 20: Shadow

Since I am now on holidays, and will be for the entire month of July, it is only fitting I am challenging myself to a series of daily posts – writing and photography.  So, in addition to RDP and Fandango, here is one from City Sonnet – a July Photo a Day Challenge (https://citysonnet.wordpress.com/2019/07/01/july-photo-a-day-challenge-2/)!

And for this one, I am challenging myself to use a photo taken on the day of the prompt – and all of them will be in black and white!

Today’s prompt is: Shadow.

Sorry – this was done yesterday, but I fell asleep before I could post…  Still, B&W and taken on the day!!

Fandango’s One Word Challenge: Grateful

“Welcome to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). It’s designed to fill the void after WordPress bailed on its daily one-word prompt. Today’s word is “Grateful.””  (https://fivedotoh.com/2019/07/20/fowc-with-fandango-grateful/)

Still on my stream of consciousness thinking today, I started wondering what it meant to be full of “grate” – perhaps my twice baked potatoes (seen below) would work, being full of grate-ed cheese…which would also be full of great-ness, btw.  But alas, wrong again.

RagTag Daily Prompt: Angle

A response in starting over with a new daily avoidance (or non-avoidance, as the case may be), here with the Ragtag Daily Prompt (https://ragtagcommunity.wordpress.com/2019/07/20/rdp-saturday-angle/), today is Angle.

Oh wait, that was “angle”…sigh…

Stream of Consciousness Saturday

This post is part of SoCS (https://lindaghill.com/2019/07/19/the-friday-reminder-and-prompt-for-socs-july-20-19/).

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “frame.” Use it as a noun or a verb or any way you like. Have fun!

Hmmm.  Lots of things come to mind when I think of the word “frame”.  I was framed, picture frame, framing for a house – you know, it’s a construction thing – well, I guess three things come immediately to mind.  Kind of like when a faculty member tells me that something in our learning management system didn’t work for all their students, and it turns out it was one student who was upset at first, and then figured it out on their own later.  Panicked exaggeration I call it.  Well, I do now, cause that sounds cool.  Not that I panic-exaggerated when I started this post.  It just felt like I should know more expressions with the word “frame”.  But it turns out I was wrong.

And here’s how I like to use frames in my photography!
