Christmas Special (2017) Writing Prompt #6
Welcome to Our Random View’s Christmas Special Writing Prompts. Today’s theme – When do you put your Christmas decorations up? (https://ourrandomview.wordpress.com/2017/12/06/christmas-special-2017-writing-prompt-6-deck-the-halls/)
Whenever I want to. And they stay up as long as I can take it – not as long as Kevin wants them to stay up though!
Oh, and Elliot and Jasper LOVE to help me.
Relocating for Christmas
A response in not as much avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/relocate/
Today I relocated some normal house decor in favour of Christmas decor. It’s beginning to look a lot like that time of year that apparently is “bigger and better than ever”…who knew Christmas needed help?
Christmas Special (2017) Writing Prompt #5
Welcome to Our Random View’s Christmas Special Writing Prompts. Today’s theme – Christmas Cards? (https://ourrandomview.wordpress.com/2017/12/05/christmas-special-2017-writing-prompt-5-christmas-cards/)
Do I send/receive Christmas cards? Well, I receive them, if anyone out there still sends them. And I have sent Christmas cards – but fewer and fewer over the years. In fact, this year I probably won’t send any out at all. Although I may also change my mind at the last minute and send post-Christmas cards. Who knows?!?
Oh, when we do receive them, this is where they go!
Scrape that Patina!
A response in not as much avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/patina/
A patina of Christmas landed on my car this morning. Unlike others here in Victoria, I have an actual scraper – straight from Saskatchewan. For the rest of you out there who think you can drive with frozen windshields, DON’T!!! Get a friggen scraper, man. You CAN find them here – it’s still Canada.
Ok. Rant over…
Christmas Special (2017) Writing Prompt #4
Welcome to Our Random View’s Christmas Special Writing Prompts. Today’s theme – It’s Beginning to Feel a lot like Christmas (https://ourrandomview.wordpress.com/2017/12/04/christmas-special-2017-writing-prompt-4-its-beginning-to-feel-a-lot-like-christmas/)
Well, when I lived in Regina, it was after the first real snowfall (even if it happened in October.)
However, it doesn’t snow very often here, but this morning I had to scrap the car windshield for the first time this winter, so the answer to this question is: Today.
Time to put up the tree!
Christmas Special (2017) Writing Prompt #3
Welcome to Our Random View’s Christmas Special Writing Prompts. Today’s theme – Christmas Shopping (https://ourrandomview.wordpress.com/2017/12/03/christmas-special-2017-writing-prompt-3-christmas-shopping/)
So, the questions are:
When do you start your Christmas shopping?
La la la la la la la…
Have you done it already?
See above.
If you haven’t, when do you plan to?
Hey, I still have 3 weeks man! Don’t rush me.
Just goes to show…
A response in not as much avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/tenterhooks/
On Tenterhooks: A state of uncomfortable suspense. https://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/on-tenterhooks.html
Well, I knew the meaning, but for some reason I thought it was “on tenderhooks”. Just goes to show that sometimes what we believe to be true is not. Now if only certain people who are creating a state of permanent Tenterhooks would stop with the “belief = truth” crap.
Who is not on tenterhooks? Jasper. I think I want to be a kitten.
Christmas Special (2017) Writing Prompt #2
Welcome to Our Random View’s Christmas Special Writing Prompts. Today’s theme – Do you buy an Advent Calendar to countdown to Christmas (https://ourrandomview.wordpress.com/2017/12/02/christmas-special-2017-writing-prompt-2-advent-calendar/)
The answer to this question is: No, but we should.
There are SO many amazing advent calendars out there now. The delicious chocolate ones, the beer ones (I always wanted a BC brewery one, but don’t do my homework early enough. How about a wine one? Perhaps a bit pricey, but then you’d have a great excuse for drinking a bottle a day. I also heard that there was a scotch one…Kevin might like that one.
But for this year, the one I am really looking forward is the one below – apologies for going all political for today’s post…I just couldn’t help it!
No comment – Caturday instead!
A response in not as much avoidance of the Daily Post’s Writing prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/age/
Age?? Age is today’s prompt? Well, I don’t want to talk about it. So, instead, let’s enjoy a little Caturday in front of the fire.
Christmas Special (2017) Writing Prompt #1
Welcome to Our Random View’s Christmas Special Writing Prompts. Today’s theme – How did you Spend Last Christmas (https://ourrandomview.wordpress.com/2017/12/01/christmas-special-2017-writing-prompt-1-last-christmas/)
Every December I look for Christmas prompts, but I didn’t even have to search this year because this one just landed in my email!
Last Christmas we spent with mom and dad and Bill and Darnell eating steak and prawns and garlic mashed potatoes! And, since Christmas Day is also mom’s birthday, add on a little birthday cake action to finish off the evening. This is the way to spend Christmas!!
