Tuesday Photo Challenge – Trash

Here is Dutch Goes the Photo’s (https://dutchgoesthephoto.net) Tuesday photo Challenge.  This week’s topic is:  Trash (https://dutchgoesthephoto.net/2016/07/26/tuesday-photo-challenge-trash/).

“In this, the 15th edition of the Tuesday Photo Challenge, I challenge you to look for subject matter that you might ignore most of the time, as it’s not the most glamorous of material to photograph: Trash aka Rubbish, Refuge or the Detritus of Civilization! The challenge that I pose to you is to depict the trash in a way that brings interest to the photo.  Use composition, color, humor or any other technique that makes it likely that someone else will look at the image you created and have some type of emotional response, be it a pensive moment or a chuckle.”

This is my take on this week’s theme.  It’s a stretch, but I don’t take a lot of pictures of detritus…

This house is next to our local Niagara Grocery, and is about to be torn down (a new house will be taking it’s place, as well as additional seating for the Grocery where patrons can sit and have coffee and delicious things).  Remains from the house were sitting outside for a few weeks before they disappeared.

This looks like trash…

But it’s really offerings at the Chinese Cemetery

And here in Victoria, we like to decorate our trash and recycling receptacles.  Nice word, receptacles!  Almost as nice as Inconceivable!

  1. Wow that was fast, Emily. I love your take on Frank’s challenge. The photos of the house and its contents is touching. And very interesting on decorating trash receptacles. 💐 Cool idea. Good job, and blessings,

  2. Excellent trashy post! Love the receptacles; it would be inconceivable to have them look any more upscale than that!

  3. What a lovely perspective on the theme. Great photos.
