Let’s do the time warp again…
In response to the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_prompt/time-capsule/
What would you put in this year’s time capsule to channel the essence of our current moment for future generations?
“Channel the essence of our current moment for future generations”? Whoa. That’s too fancy to even contemplate, let alone understand and post on. Nothing I post would come even close to encapsulating the meaning embedded within this phrase. Besides, anything that would channel this current moment’s essence is something I am using right now and don’t want to pack away in a time capsule. And if I was ready to pack it away, it probably isn’t current enough for the purposes outlined here.
Ok, enough with the big words and convoluted sentences. Here are some things I saw in my garden yesterday!
Clematis heaven!!
Two of my new hellebores waiting to be planted
Somethings coming up – what will it be? (Sorry, don’t know my own garden well enough yet to know – I just planted it last summer…)
Things I saw on my walk today
Today I took a walk over lunch at work (I did yesterday as well). There’s a lovely, hilly loop that takes me about 35-40 minutes (4K) to walk, or a bit longer when you are stopping for photo ops. Anyway, I thought I would post some of the things I saw today (at the risk of having to use some of them again tomorrow morning when I mock the Daily Post topic). I did treat a few of them with the vintage effects on my Photoshop Elements. Just having some fun!
Wait, what?

Write a post about anything you’d like — in the style of your favorite blogger. (Be sure to link to them!)
I don’t even know what this means, although I am sure some people will figure it out and produce really good posts. And even if I did know what this meant, note that while I follow a lot of blogs, I can’t (or won’t, for the fear of insulting someone) pick a “favourite”.
So, instead (and probably to Kevin’s chagrin as I once more “don’t give the prompt a chance”), here are some pictures from yesterday:
Decisions, decisions
In response to the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_prompt/just-a-dream/
You’re having a nightmare, and have to choose between three doors. Pick one, and tell us about what you find on the other side.
Well, first of all, I don’t have nightmares. I mean really – it’s been years since I had a nightmare. At least while I was asleep. Second of all, while I have vivid dreams sometimes, I seldom remember what they are when I wake up. I’ve tried remembering them, I’ve tried writing them down, but end the end I decided I was quite ok not remembering, and not spending a lot of time trying desperately to figure out what they all “mean”. I get quite enough of trying to figure it all out in “real life”. I don’t need to figure out my dreams too. Finally, I’ve come to the end of my allotted time on the prompt so I’m not going to do a “finally”. In the end, this is most likely what I will see behind any of those doors.
And now for something completely different…

Write your obituary.
Actually, I think it would be more fun to write my headstone.
“Well, that was fun!”
Another hypothetical…sigh…
In response to the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_prompt/circle-of-five/
A writer once said, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” If this is true, which five people would you like to spend your time with?
Watch out – it’s one of those hypothetical questions again. Aside from wanting to know which writer said this, and upon what scientific evidence she/he based this premise on, my fundamental problem with this question is that it implies I am suppose to pick five people I don’t already spend time with – the “ideal” five. And yes, I could pick five people I think of as “inspiring”, but if they are people I don’t actually KNOW, how do I know I would actually end up wanting to spend any time with them? Just because someone looks good on paper (or in the news) doesn’t mean they are someone I would want to give up parts of my day for. Do I want to end up being the average of five people I can’t stand to be around on a regular basis?
Maybe I should just assume that these “five people” could include our cats. I wouldn’t mind being able to be more like them.
Now, here are some pretty flowers I shot yesterday.

In response to the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_prompt/plead-the-fifth/
What question do you hate to be asked? Why?
Aside from hypothetical questions (You know the ones, if you were alone on a desert island, what 5 books would you take with you? If you could only eat 1 thing, what would it be? Sound familiar? (daily post…)) which I dislike intensely, the question that I used to get asked ALL the time when I played the bass (yes, the stand up, string bass) was “Don’t you wish you played the piccolo?” Why on earth would I want to play the piccolo??
MY question of the day is why would anyone do this to their car? (seen on Salt Spring Island during the Day Tripping posted about last night…)
