In response to the Daily Post’s Writing Prompt https://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_prompt/me-time/
What’s your ideal Saturday morning? Are you doing those things this morning? Why not?
Ok, today I’ll play. My “ideal” Saturday morning is lazy. Sleep a bit late (after 9:00 for sure – yes, we have no kids and love to sleep in on the weekends). Then roll out of bed (Kevin always sleeps later than I do) and feed the kitties and make coffee. Cats are always first – we have four, and they are whiny (and the litter boxes always need cleaning). Ok the litter boxes part I could lose from the “ideal” part of the morning, but it’s a necessary part of every morning. And afternoon. And evening. Sigh…
Anyway, sleep late, feed kitties, and then COFFEE!! Yes. My first cup of coffee on Saturdays is for perusing emails and blogs posts, and then looking at the Daily Post. Then the second cup is for my allotted Daily Posting time and then relaxing with a good book (Kindle app book usually, although I do have a few paper-style books in my TBR pile right now).
Just so you know, today is a bit off. I got up earlier because I’m heading to Salt Spring Island to Helleborganza with a friend and her daughter. Last year when we went it was raining and kind of miserable. This year is sunny and beautiful, so I think I may have to blog about it later as I will have pictures to share!
That’s it. Saturday morning (Sunday morning too, if the truth be told). Eventually I shower, start laundry and make lunch, but the morning is about coffee and easing into the weekend. and when it gets a bit warmer, I’ll start enjoying the back deck or the front porch with said coffee. And since both these entities were just finally fixed up last year, we will finally be able to enjoy either/or THIS year for the first time since we moved into the house.
(note that both these pics were shot this morning – it’s just a bit nippy to be sitting out there as I write this…)
