Blogging from A to Z Challenge: A is for… (#AtoZChallenge)

Welcome to my April 2022 Great and Powerful Blogging from A to Z Challenge!

I’ve revealed my theme (Photo editing apps), and once again, in spite of the best laid plans (who am I kidding, there were no plans, only aspirations) I am going to be blogging my theme letters on the fly.  So, here goes nothing!

So, without further ado, A is for ArtLeap.

ArtLeap is one of my go-to apps, especially because I love playing with the pixel sort option.  According to TapSmart, “For Artleap, the approach is simple – to add over-the-top style to images in a flash to really make them pop. It does this through some neat tricks including double exposures, dispersions, and shattering effects – or even replacing the entire sky with something a little more dramatic.”  You can also combine effects and do some basic editing for intensity, etc.  So not a whole lot of control, but enough to make it fun.  And if you’re like me, you are not just using ArtLeap with your photos, but are combining these effects with those from other apps.

The full range of effect follow, with some examples of images using my favourite effects:

Split colours, double exposure, duotone, pop art, split & flip, tiny planet, kaleidodrop, wrap around, sketchify, vintage, lansball, 90s videogame, colour pop, broken glass, shatter, urban portrait, halftone, paint booth, spooky exposure, new year exposure, xmas exposure, double love, pixel sort, scan, filters, dispersion, scale.

  5. How fun. I’m excited to learn about the photo effects you use.

  6. Good start!

  7. This should be interesting since I’ve never used photo-editing apps. Well, other than the iPhone Photos app.

  8. Sounds like a cool app. 😀

  9. I can see many lost hours coming up after A2Z. Lots of fun.
