A to Z Challenge: J is for Junk (#AtoZChallenge)
Welcome to my April 2018 Great and Powerful Blogging from A to Z Challenge!
What is the difference between Junk and Garbage? Well, I guess some garbage can be junk, but there is some garbage I wouldn’t call junk. Like, stale bread, or ripped bags, or some of the other things I remember putting in the garbage can earlier today (hey, the bread went in the compost, ok?) Anyway, junk describes a lot of the crap, I mean stuff, in our basement. Stuff we don’t want any more, stuff that probably doesn’t work anymore, or we don’t need any more, or is stained or broken. That’s junk.
I don’t know about you, but I see junk all the time (aside from in our basement) – on the side of the road, left at the curb, in yards. Sometimes people pick it up and, well, I don’t know what they do with it. One person’s junk, is another person’s treasure I guess.
But, junk can make for cool pictures. Here are some of my junkie photos.
Junk by the side of the highway.
Junk from days gone by at the Medalta Pottery factory.
Random junk by the railway tracks somewhere in Saskatchewan.

I am such a fan of junque….you know–the good stuff.
Junque – I love it!
i tend to pick up junk, repurpose it, decorate it and sell it for hundreds of dollars…….lol
Maybe there’s dough in pictures of it too?!?
well if not, there should be. mr. Warhol drew a campbells soup can and made a fricking fortune..why shouldn’t you make one with junk?
Nicely photographed. I feel like I’ve been overlooking potentially interesting photo ops that have been by the side of the road all along. You have opened my eyes.
Thanks! It’s all about looking at things in a new light 🙂
And in 1,000 years, the junk of today will be the things they put in museums!
It’s good you are thinking there will be a future 🙂
Optimism!
I love found junk! We’ve found some pretty good junk to bring home. 🙂
I love giving it away to people who like to take it to their homes! 🙂
Makes me think of the old Paul McCartney song… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuLRKtfCJXw
Thanks for sharing this – I didn’t know this song!
That is indeed, some pretty junk 🙂
Thanks!
