A to Z Challenge: D is for Dusty things (#AtoZChallenge)

Welcome to my April 2018 Great and Powerful Blogging from A to Z Challenge!

Today, D is for Dusty things. I think I’m finally organized. There have been some old years (2017) creeping into my basic posts, and I keep getting the link wrong to the letter challenge spreadsheets, but I believe I have it together now (fingers crossed).  AND I have a theme before 9:00 pm 🙂  Still trying to figure out E for tomorrow though…

Anyway, dusty things.  It was easy to find a couple of pictures from the Medalta factory trip, but then I tried to find some dust around the house.  I was both relieved and sad that I didn’t find dust to photograph for you 🙂 I did, however, find an old mask we used when we were fixing up the house before we moved in (back in 2012) that we obviously haven’t needed in awhile!

While dust is usually annoying, when you are trying to keep a house clean, it has a certain quality about it when seen in abandoned or preserved spaced.  The look of things that were left behind, never to be used again.  Those things have a haunting quality about them when covered in a thick, or thin, coating of dust.

Thanks for visiting my Letter D, A to Z Challenge post.  You can find links to more blogs participating in this challenge at Letter D, A to Z Challenge Master List (Google Docs).  Stay tuned for E is for… Tomorrow!!

  1. True, that’s a good one. My bedroom is the dustiest. Having a long dark wood dresser that my cats like to lounge on really demonstrates that dust factor. Phew!

  2. You should have come to visit … I have PLENTY of dusty things! E – edible things?

  3. Your topic and photos are perfect. Could I interest you in a photo of me, someone who I swear is a dusty old thing?! 😉

  4. Dust look cool on old artifacts. Here, though, everything gets a good coating of dust almost daily, because of the sandstorms we have here. It’s not cool. It’s just gritty, and sometimes it does no good to dust the furniture, as it will be back again the next day.

    • I have a friend who lives on a farm that always is dusting. I feel like I am always dusting, or rather swiffering the floors, because it’s an old house, but it is no where near as dusty as her place gets!

  5. Dust is inescapable.

  6. When I was little, my father’s house was robbed. The police came and dusted the windowsill for fingerprints where the robber came in, and our cat’s pawprints showed up on the sill. She’d been gone for months by that time. It made me really miss her!

But if you want dust, I have it in spades at my place, lol. #terriblehousekeeper

    • That’s a sad story. And I really do have lots of dust in my house normally, it’s just that I dusted last week before mom and dad came for dinner…

  7. I love that first image. Not only have I enjoyed this post, I’ve also enjoyed the conversations in the comments, loving your a-z!
