NaNoPoblano 2017 – Day 28 (November 28)

Go NaNoPoblano (National Blog Posting Month) (https://anitashree.com/2017/10/12/its-approaching-that-time-again !

The first Christmas trees are at our local grocery store.

Every year I have mixed feelings about getting a real tree.  Of course, Kevin won’t hear of a fake tree, but finding the “right” one, getting it home and setting it up, watering it every day (once or twice), then taking it down (needles all over the floor) – sometimes I wonder if it’s all worth it.  For the real tree smell and all, I guess. At least here we can see the tree.  Back in Saskatchewan, we had to buy frozen trees and never knew for sure what we were getting until it thawed!

Someday, maybe we will stop with the big real tree, but probably not this year.

  1. Interesting tidbit about Saskatchewan! I have had lots of both real and faux, they all have their pluses and minuses, but I’ve never had a frozen one! 🙂

    • The frozen ones are both a pain (not knowing what you will get) and fun (not knowing what you will get!). We ended up with some pretty nice trees, surprisingly. Oh, and they also seem to be a lot more expensive on the prairies than here. Probably because they all come from here originally…

  2. Maybe this year you could get a fake tree and then spray it with real pine scent, then you get the best of both worlds. An authentic smelling tree and no needles to hoover up afterwards 🙂
